GODERICH TOWNSHIP
Mr. Erland Settles is home ;from
Tortotito suffering • from, an attack
of appendicitis.
Ms. Peter .McDougall has returned
from the Goderich hospital, where he
has undergone 'an operation for the
removal of a cataract from the eye.
• kir. and Mrs. Albert Harris enter-
tained a number of their friends on
Friday evening.
Mr. Fred Elliott, who was ser-
iously injured by a ram is able to
be around again.
Mrs. John Blair, who is in the
Clinton hospital, is recovering nicely.
The annual meeting of the 1Gode-
rich Township Municipal Telephone
System was held in the hall at Ho:l-
mesville and a good crowd was pre-
sent.
After the commissioners bad re,
viewed the work of the past year
they elected the officers for the coin-
ing year which are as follows:

Mr. Ben Rathwell is attending the
Black Knight's .meeting held in Lon-

quite ill, is at present under the care
of a nurse. ' Her many friends hope
she may soon recover.

The 'Smiles 'n Chuckles Club met
on Friday evening at the home of

eighty being present. A good pro-

was decided the name of the organ-
ization should be the "Smiles 'n
Chuckles Club of the Nfaitland and
16th.” The meeting on Friday even-
ing of this week will be at the home
of Mrs. Henry Murphy.

ple. of the community gathered in
the town hall 'on Wednesday evening
last to a reception held in the hon
or of Mk.. and Mrs. Harold Dowson,
when they were presented with a
miscellaneous shower, among which
were many pretty and useful gifts,
The evening was spent in dancing.
Mr. McGowan of Blyth has been
spending the past week with his
daughter, Mrs, Fred Reid.
Misses Doris and Ida Chuter are

ters in London.

of Mrs. C. A. Howson, with a good

a dainty lunch was served.
