The regular meeting of the X.P.S.
of Union Church was field on Friday
evening with, 20 members present.
The new president, Miss Nora Sow-
erhy, was in charge and opened the
meeting with a hymn, The prayer
from the "Pathfinder" was read by
,Helen Davidson. The Scripture les-
son was from Romans 13:1-10, and
Ephesians 4:11-14. ldiss Sowerby,
in a few, well-chosen words, thanked
the members for electing her as pre-
sident. A. reading, "The Farmer and
His Church," was giver, by Marion
Colwell. A duet, 'Ivory Palaces,"
was sung by Benson Pentland and
Dave Davidson. Lorne Porter read I.
an article entitled "The Christian'
as a Member' of the •Society." Sev-
eral suggestions were made to raise
money for the society. A hymn was
sung and the meeting closed with
the Mizpah benediction. I
