Holds Successful Bazaar
The Girls' Club of Clinton Presby-
terian Church held ,a . Christmas Ba-
zaar and Tea in the basement of the
Church on December 5. •
Mrs, D, J. Lane received at the
door. - Mrs. Sam; -Castle and Mrs.
Elmer Murray were in charge of the
baking sale and Mrs. Frank Mac-
Donald and Mrs.. W. F. Cooke in
charge of the novelty, booth, Tea
tables were decorated with red candles
and holly. 'Net proceeds amounted
to $110.

Legion
Auxiliary Holds
' The regalar meeting of the Ladies'
Legion Auxiliary was held Monday
night in the Legion Hall. •
Mrs. D. W. Cornish was initiated
a new member. Com. Cooke took the
chair for the election of Officers
for the coming year.
The meeting closed and a social,
half hour was enjoyed by everyone.

Clinton Women's Institute will be held
on Thursday, December 20, at 2.30 in
the Agricultural Board Room. Mrs.

Held at Wesley -Willis
White gift Sunday was observed
by the Sunday School of Wesley
Willis United Church on Sunday. The
superintendent, John Nediger Jr., was
in charge.
Miss Betty Longman gave an in-
teresting story about the real mean-
ing of white gifts. At the front of
the schoolroom a large basket was
arranged, covered in white and when
the presentation of White Gifts had
been made this basket was filled to
overflowing. These gifts will be sent
to the needly, in other parts of the
provinee.
Miss Eileen Sutter was at the
piano for the singing during the ser-
vice. Rev. Andrew Lane, the min-
ister, closed the service with prayer,

'BY-LAW NO. 17 for 1945
A By -Law to establish a Board of Park Management
WHEREAS a petition has been presented by certain e%eters
• of the Town of Clinton praying for the . adoption of The Public
Paries Act;
AND WHEREAS the Council is desirous of giving effect to
the said petition.
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED' by the Corporation of The
Town of Clinton:
1. The parks of the Town of Clinton shall be controlled and
managed by a Board to be called "The Board ' of Park
Management and the provisions of The Public Parks Act
are hereby adopted with relation thereto.
2. The . said ,Boarci shall have the general management,
regulation and control of all existing parka in the Town of
Clinton and of such other lands, parks, avenues, boulevards
and drives which may hereafter be acquired and established
under the provisions of The Public Parks A'et.
3. This By-lawashall cone into effect upen reeeiying the assent
of the electors qualified to vote at Murtiicipal elections, and
upon •its final passing after receiving such assent.
First reading—November 5th, 1945, .'
Second reading—November stir, 1945.
Take notice that the above is a' true copy of a proposed By -Law
of the Corporation of the Town of Clinton. to be submitted to the
votes of the electors on the 7th day of January A.D. .1946 between
the hours of nine o'clock in the forenoon and five o'clock in the
afternoon at the several polling places established for the taking of
votes for the annual .Municipal Elections.
And that if the assent of the electors is obtained to the proposed
•Ep-Law. it will he taken into consideration by the Council of the said
Corporation. ;at a meeting therein to be held after the expiration of
one month from the date of the\ first. ;publication of the notice and
that said first publication . was made ,on' the 6th day of December
A.D. 1945.
And that the Mayor will attend at the office of the Town
Olerk at 1.30 o'clock in the afternoon on the Slit day of December,
A.D., 1945, for the purpose of. appointing persons to attend at the
polling places and at the first summing up of the votes by the Clerk.
