To the Farmers of Huron
Clinton, Ontario,
August 20th, 1945
TO THE FARMERS OF HURON
Dear Sir:
On August 16th, 1943 the Goderich
Elevator Company illegally raised the
Trice for loading grain into trucks
by one-half eent per bushel on bagged
grain not tied, by one cent per bushel
on grain bagged and tied. The illegal
collections were gontinued until May
7th, 1945, when the Wartime Prices
and Trade Board instituted proceed-
ings against the company. On July
5th the company was found guilty
and fined and are being required by
the W. P. T. B. to make refunds

money a farmer must furnish proof
to the W. P. T. B. of having re-
ceived grain on which excessive char-
ges were paid. The following would
probably be accepted by the W. P.„T.
B, as ,proof.
1. A receipted bill of grain purchased
or a ,cheque which` was given in
payment for grain, or a statement
from the brooks of the ,dealer from
whom the grain was purchased, or
a declaration by the dealer 'and the
farmer.
Partners are advised to have this
proof in ieadiness'y'as it' is probable
that: an evening meeting willbe held'
