WHEN APRIL SINGS
By Mildred It. Henderson
Oh, I have yearned and waited for
this time,
Impatient, as a bride awaits her love.
Oh, jealously I've watched for all
these things,
And held my heart to hear whesi
April sings.
The rush of river's in her Song', 04
rain
That drops like silver flute notes,
• swift and free;
The harsh staccato chatter of the
birds,
In sequence sweeping up to, ecstasy.'
-Synthetic light:.ing f'a.hes in , the
sky,
And man-made thunder tears the
world apart,
But never will our love of freedom
die
Sb long as April sings fi-oin heart to
sexed ,a -dance ' in rte Foresters Hall heart.
