C., March' 20th, 1945 • Clinton Newa-Recorcl: While in Vanepuver, Mrs. Mar- garet Manning and I went over to Victoria, on the Princes Charlotte. We left Vancouver at 10.30 a.m. and arriVed, at 3.30 p.m. , We had a nice trip. The day was fine and sailing good. Our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Geo, CcCall and Jean entertained' us most royally. The weather was ideal ,and lots of flowers and shrubs in bloom. • One day we went to Beacon Rill Park. A. very beautiful spot with large' trees, flowers,. shrubs and several ponds. with ducks swimming around, We saw a large oak tree in the park that was .grown from an acorn sent from, France in 1917 by a Canadian ,soldier.
