Summerhill Red Cross
The Summerhill Red Cross met
at the borne of Mts. Mason. The
meeting opened ,by the singing of
"Abide With Me", followed by the
Red Cross Prayer and the Lord's
Prayer, The minutes of the last
Meeting were read and adopted.
Twenty-one members and six visit-
ors answered the roll call
A box of Rinso'donated' by Mrs.
G. 'Cornish was raffled off and the
lucky ticket went to Mrs. E. Far-
quhar. Proceeds amounted to ninety-
five cents.
Three cups and saucers, donated
by Mrs. T. Mason were raffled and
MO's., C. Ballwon them. Ninety
cents, was made on these. '
A quilt was .quilted • and patches
were sewn during the afternoon.
• The next meeting will be held ' at
the home of Mrs. W. Merrill on
February .28th. The ladies to serve
are ;tiles. Cornish, ` Mrs. Riley, Mrs.
R.Smith and Mrs. Mason.
The n ieeting closed by 'singing God
Save King followed by lunch.

To Sell• Shorthorns At
County: Home Farm
The County Home committee of.
Huron County Council, composed of
Reeves A. McCann, Stephen, chair-
man, Brown .Smyth, West Wawanosh,'
A. Watson, Colborne; D. L. Weir,
Howick; J. F, Daly, Seaforth, and
Warden A, Alexander, met at the
County Horne on Monday. After an
inspection tour of :the Home and all
the buildings, the meeting was held.
It was decided to dispose of the
Shorthorn herd of fourteen animals
by auction sale during the last
week in March, It was the unani-
mous opinion that the 'Holstein herd
was the proper one to be retained,
as Hulk isa prime factor at the
Home. The chairman, Warden Alex-
ander, Inspector George' Feagan and
Manager Ervin. Jacob were appoint-
ed a committee to purchase five or
six blood -tested Holstein °cows from
accredited herds. Mr. Jacob was
Authorized to employ an auctioneer
while attending the Holstein Breed-
ers' Association in Toronto.
After a demonstration, it was de-
cided,'to purchase .a floor, .mainten-
ance machine (electric .polisher and
scrubber); also to have the attic over
the entire home in"sulated,.'the con-
tract being let to John Hall of Clin-
ton.

Cross convenor.' Club sewing Was

19th, the Farm Forum of S. S. No. 1,
met at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
E'lgin Nott with an attendance of
nineteen. The discussion was led by
Mr. Elgin Nott. It was the general
opinion that the government con-
trolled or co-operative marketing
would be best for all concerned.
The remainder of the evening was
spent in contests, music and social
chat. '
Plans for having a pot Iuck
supper to wind up the Forum meet-
ings for this season were discussed'.
Lunch was served by the hostess.
