V • LONDESBORO On February 8th the Londesboro Red Cross Ladies ;net and packed 22 boxes for the -boys overseas. The boxes contained all kinds of home made eandy, cookies, fruit cake, chocolate: drink, package cheese, gum, canned meat, soup, chocolate bars, peanuts and pair of socks. Looks to the Future"; the theme hymns, "These Things Shall Be," and "A Loftier Race," and the Scripture— a porton of Paul's letter to the Philippians: "Let this mind be in yon which is also in Christ Jesus." The C.G:I•T• program is sponsor- ed by the National Girls' Work Board of the Religious Education Council of Canada and carte into being during the last Great War to fill the clemand for a church - centred program for teen-age girls. The C.G.I.T. organization now num- bets approximately 45,000 girls. The ideal C.G.I.T. group is a Sun- day School class meeting in mid- week. The purpose is the develop- ment of Christian character. through vital, connection with the whole life of the church. The success of the group is judged in terms of growth - knowledge skill, attitudes, Chris- tian citizenship relationship in daily living. The C.G.I.T. is promoted -by the Ontario Girls' Work Board', which repre`ents six denominations. Muss Margaret Robb is'" the secretary.
