The Annual Meetjntg of the Bay-
field, ,Red •Cross Society was heldin
the Orange Ball on Thursday even-
ing, January 18. ` The meeting was
opened with the '=xeading q£ Scrip-
ture and prayer' by Rev. A: S Col-
well. Mrs. Jas. Ferguson, vice presi-
dent was in the chair for. the read='
ing of reports and read a resume oft

dent, Miss A. M. Stirling who is' .in,
the Canadian West. Mrs. Robert
Scotchmer, Secretary, read the fol-
lowing report. "We have come
again to the end of the Red Cross
year, to the time of accounting and

- science 'student at Queen's Univer-
- sity. At the time of .enlitting he was
'working at Preston East Doine Mine
and enlisted at North Bay in Feb.

He commenced his course as radio
-=technician at .McGill University and

gely for the Navy and Civilians. To

During the year we held ten
meeting's and one executive meeting.
The .attendance at these sneetingd
was usually 9 when it wasn't 8 or
even 7. Last year I made a request
for increased attendance, but the
result seems to have been poor so I
won't 'repeat the request.

Blue Water Highway Unit
Our unit had, 14 meetings- during
the year. We have 22 merirbers, 16 of
these are active. During the year
we handed into the Bayfield Red
CrOSS, 6 quilts, 1 crib 'quil't, 10 blots,
res, 15 pr, panties, 6-8 yr. size, 12
pr. sock's, 2 pi' -gloves, 1 helmet, 2
scarves, 1 turtle neck sweater. We
have 1 finished quilt, 1, top, 1 crib
quilt top. These we intend to sell
as they are too light in colour to
send Overseas.
