brother David Mcllwain of Gode-
rich,
ode-rich narked their 80th milestone in
life. They are sons of thelatee David
Mcllwain •who was born in Ireland.
and the late Jane Johnston. They
were born in West Wawanosh on
the farm where Mr. and Mrs, Keith
Paegan now reside near Nile.. 1
The• Mcllwain twins attended S.
S. No. 1 West Wawanosh, with one
of the teachers being R. E. Brown,
They spent their boyhood life in
West Wawanosh. The Mcllwain
family consisted of 13 members,
seven of whom are still living, they
are Andrew of Goderich, (Sarah)
Mrs. Wilson of Nile, Wm. of Auburn,
David of Goderieh, (Ellen Jane)
Mrs. John McPhee of Auburn, Miss.
(Martha Mcllwain of Nile and (Mary)
Mrs. John Tiffin of Goderieh. .
Not many families can say they
have twin -brothers and sisters, but
the members •of this family, can be-
cause Mrs. John McPhee and Miss
Martha MoIlwain are twin daughters
In 1904 Wm. Mcllwain was mar-
ried to Annie Rogerson, daughter of
the late Robert, and Mary Rogerson
of Parry Sound, Ont. They lived 'on
the Mcllwain homestead until 13
years ago when they moved to Car-
low where they had charge of the
Colborne Municipal Telephone and
7 years ago the family retired td
Aiuburn. 'Two years ago Mrs;
1VIellwain passed away.•They had one
daughter Amelia who resides with
her father. Mi. Mcllwain is a mem-
ber of Knox United Church and a
member: of the L. 0. L.
David Mcllwain and his wife, for-
mer7y .: Ann'e Elliott 'daughter • of
!the Yate 1Vir•, and Mrs. Thomas Elliott
were married, on September 26th
1804 end last year celebrated their
golden wedding enni`versary. - They
farmed on the lst concession of
Ashfield ,until twenty two years ago
when they retired 'to Goderieh.. They
have two children, Earl of Goderieh
and (Lila) Mrs. Cloupman of Oak:
nd, Cal. also, two grandchildren,
a grandson recently teturned home
from Overseas.
Miss Amelia Mcllwain had.a fanc-
ily dinner 011 Wednesday for'the
brothers and sistere.
