A. Oakes, in the chair. Reports of the committee con- venors, showed ' good work done, but a .special appeal was given for more knitters. Our knitting quota at pre- sent is all for the navy, and we need six volunteers .to each knit a navy turtle -neck sweater. Have you done anything for our navy lately? Here is your opportunity to do something worthwhile. We also 'appeal for bright buttons, two or four of a kind. These should be left at the workrooms. A bale consisting of four boxes has been sent to the Russian relief. The society wishes to gratefully aeknowledge and thank the Lions' Club for a donation of P33. receipts from the Fall Frolic. The annual ,meeting will be held on Thursday, December 28th ' at 2.30 p.m: All units are asked to attend this important- meeting. Falconer -Butler, That Council approve the refund of $6.66 to Reg. Shipley due to cancellation of Taxi License No. 125 for two=thirds of a year on a second vehicle. As a''resiilt of a complaint from a representative of Station CKNX of the condition of the Town Hall Piano, the property committee were directed to advertise for a second band upright piano. A communication from Mr. F. Fingland was read, relative to. the issue of the order from the Ontario Municipal Board re the proposed Sewerage System. Epps -Butler, That council "ap- prove the payment of $199.00 as the Municipal Board's Tariff fee re the Sewerage System Money By -Law. A request was received from the Huron Fish 'and Ganie Club, for changed date for their 'annual New Year's Dance, Brown -.Epps, That the request of the Huron Fish and Game Club to change the date for their New Years Dance from December 30th to Jan. 1st 12.01 a.m. and to begin at •mid- night, be granted. A note of appreciation . was re- ceived from the Ladies Aid of the Baptist Church, thanking Council for refund of rental of Council Chamber. Notice of increased change of Hospital rate for indigent patients was received from the Huron Coun- ty Clerk., , Reeve Falconer reported only part of the street drainage prepar- ation for winter as completed, due to the, inability to secure proper help. The -reeve reported the snow -plow mounted. and in operation. Councilhn Trewartha read the Finance report for November and moved its adoption which was sec- onded'by Councillor Crich and adopt- ed. Butler -Epps, That Council ap- point the Mayor and Reeve to repre- sent the Council on Post-war plan- ning. Falconer -Epps, That Clark Stan- ley ,he permitted to renew his Li- cense as 'a car wrecker, and repair- man, or to buy, sell or store motor vehicles, 'or operate a parking lot .or parking station. Mayor Agnew stated his inten- tion to allow his name to go before the electors of the Town for another tern as Mayor. All members of council then declared their intentions to stand for another tern of office. V Red Cross Christmas Stockings For Men In Hospital Every serviceman in hospital whe- ther in the Mediterranean or Euro- pean theatre of operation will re- ceive a Christmas stocking this y;ar, thanks to the Canadian Red Cross Society. Members of the Cana4ian Red Cross Corps have been working on the stinking assembly line at the London headquarteis. To date 14,000 have been packed. The girls are now working on the last 15,000 which will be distributed to Canadian patients in British and Canadian hoap'tils in Britain. Stockings contain sweets, wash cloth, shaving stick, handkerchief, gum, razor Modes, note book, Cana- dian cigarettes -and the mate to the woollen gift stocking. Unable to Attend Lodge Officers and members of Clinton Lodge A. F. and A. M., No. 84 were doubly .disappointed last Friday evening. District Deputy Grand Master John Semple, ;Stratford, who• was scheduled to make his official visit to the lodge on that date had suffered serious injuries in a car accident on the previous evening, and was unable to attend. The candi- date for degree honors, Cecil Hol- mes, Canadian Army Dental Corps, was storm -stayed in London and could not get through to keep his appointment. There was, however, a good attendance of the brethren and the following visitors: J. A. Petrie, A, J. Wright, Britannia Lodge, Sea - forth, W. J. Carrel and A. E.
