WEDDINGSWEDDING SHADDICK•—.WALEOM At 7.0Q o'clock Wednesday evening Ruth Loreen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs L. Walkom,i Munro, "became the bride, of Allen E. Shaddick, Londes- bore, son ' of Mrs. Lucy, Shad'dicle, and the late Richard Shaddick: The ceremony wasperformed on the lawn' at the bride's home- amidst an effective setting of regal lilies and. roses. Rev. A. E. Menzies, Lon- desboro, officiated, assisted by Rev. W. 0. Mather, Fullerton. The bride looked lovely in,':a floor length gown of white triple, sheer with full bodice, lace yoke and. long sleeves. Her 'finger-tip, veil fell from a:'halo of lace, she carried: a shower bouquet of American Beauty roses. Her father' gave her in mare riage. The bride's two sisters, both of Munro, were her attendants. Mrs. Donald Habkirk, as •matron of honor, wore a street length frock of rose silk jersey trimmed with lace and Miss Evelyn Walkom, the bridesmaid, was wearing a similar frock in' tur- quoise shade. They carried nosegays of sweet peas and wore matching halos, The bridegrooms.brother, Joseph Shaddick, Londesboro, was best man. As the bridal party took their places for the ceremony, Miss Lulu Walkom, sister of the bride, played the bridal chorus from, Lohengrin and Mendelssohn's wedding march as recessional. During the •signing of the register, Mrs. A. E: Menzies ,sang "I'll Walk Beside You." The bride's mother received th guests wearing a frock of flowere silk jersey. She was assisted by Mr Shaddick in mauve crepe. Th corsages were of Joanna Hill rose The wedding dinner was served, o the ]awn by 'Mrs. Arthur Fergu Owen Sound, and Miss Doris Wa Mitchell, sisters of the hrid and Miss Ruth Shaddick and Mr Ivan Carter, sisters of the groom. Her finger-tip veil of white net which formed a alo was caught with white • roses. ie wore the groom's gift, a string pearls with matching pearl ear ngs, and carried •a colonial bouquet red roses. Miss. Helen Grealis, as bridesmaid, ore a floor length gown of ,blue net er taffeta with a pink shoulder- ngth veil caught in a halo of pink/ owers. She .carried a Colonial bou- et of pink carnations. The groom was attended by his brother Archie iley and the ushers were Geo. ustard, Brucefield and Frank Grea- of town. The wedding music was played by rs. Wilfred Aikenhead and during re signing of the register, Mrs. earn sang "0 Perfect Love." Immediately following the cere- mony a reception was held at the home of the bride. The bride's mother received tie guests, number - g fifty, wearing a brown and white tted sheer with white accessories d a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Riley chose a blue sheer with hite accessories and a corsage of ite carnations. ' The dining room was effectively corated with pink and white strea- rs and seasonable flowers. The de's table covered with a'lace le cloth was centred with' a four - red 'wedding 'cake, around which cled ivy and red rose buds while hted candles burned .at either end the table. THflMPSON free Delivers McCALLUM—VINCENT Westfield United Church was beautifully decorated Saturday after- noon, July 15th, for the marriage of Doreen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. ,Roland Vincent, Westfield, to Mr. Harvey McCallum, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan McCallum, Blyth. The altar, festooned with white tulle with pink rosebuds and green sprigs, entwined, formed a lovely background for tall standards of blue delphinium and white hy- drangea, centred with a basket'of delphinium and lilies, Rev. Harold Snell officiated, assisted by - Rev. Hugh Wilson, a former pastor. Dur- ing the signing of the register Jack Cook, Clinton, sang,, "For You," ac- companied 'by A. E. Cook, organist of Blyth United Church, who also played the wedding music.' The bride, given in marriage by her father, looked, charming in a floor length gown of white satin with yoke of brocaded net. Her finger-tip veil formed a halo and she carried a bouquet ,of deep pink roses. The maid of honor, Miss Irene McCallum, sister. of the bridegroom, wore a floor length gown of pale blue satin with 'matching shoulder length veil, forming a hat, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink yeses. Miss Betty r airservice, the bridesmaid, chose a floor length own of `maize satin,i• g with matching shoulder length veil, embroidered with tiny ,blossoms. The bridegroom was attended' by John Clegg, Clinton and the usher was Lorne Hay, Exeter` cousin of the bridegroom. Later the wedding dinner and re- ception Were held at the home of. the bride's parents, with about 20 guests present. Mrs. McCallum was an employee of the Bank of Corn coerce for some time. On their re- urntfrom, their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. McCallum will 'reside in Blyth. Wm. Fear. Mr. and Mrs. H.
