the Town Duriiping Ground must be burned by the
parties -delivering same before leaving grounds, also
the party making delivery must not leave the prop-,
erty until all fires` are extinguished.
All other refuse must be dumped into the ravine

GODERICH TOWNSHIP
Barbara Middleton a pupil of Miss
Myna Middleton Goderich spent a few
days in Goderich, last week and took
part in the Music Festival. She receiv-
ed a certificate with a mark of 81
for Vocal Solo and also a certificate
witha mark of 81 for a Piano Solo.
Council Meeting
Council met in Holmtesville on May 1
Mr. Frank Donnelly wrote re a reputed(
claim of Frank Elliott for damage
caused by the flood last May, The
Council had already offered hint twice
too much and which :he refused to ac-
cept. The clerk to reply. ,-The
Dominion sent their price' for a snow
plow. The clerk was instructed to
forward ,this' piece to the District En-
gineer for approval.
The Council purchased $1000.00 of
Victory loan to' be used as• collateral
for borrowing at 3% instead of 5%.
Messrs. Laois and Merner offered
to supply the 4000 yards of crushed
gravel at 58c which was accepted.
There was an application for a taxi
licence this was left over until next
meeting to find if the party carried
sufficient insurance.

Word has been received by Mrs. E.
A. Dining of Brucefield and Mrs.
Robt. MacLean of Hensall of the death
of their nephew, Flying Officer Mar-
vin Henderson on active service. Fly-
ing Officer Henderson was in his
twenty-third year and was a son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Hender-
son of Toronto. He has been on active
service since 1940 and is survived by
one brother, Elden of Toronto.
