A beautiful Easter Service was
held in the church on Sunday morn-
ing. The Junior choir under the
leadership of Mrs, Menzies, rendered
two inspiring anthems. A pantonine,
"when I survey the Wondrous. Cross"
sung by Miss Doreen Armstrong, and
assisted by Miss Betty Brunsdon,
Miss Margaret Tamblyn, and Miss
Mary Ellen Prest was a pleasing fea-
ture, also a dramatic mnonologue
"Cheeza" by Miss Fern Watson, Rev.
Menzies gave a splendid address on
Easter. At the reception service,
Murray Lyon, Ray Shobbrook, Mur-
ray Lovett, Alexander Menzies, Lois
Wood, and Thelma Shobbrook, were
received into • the fellowship of the
church.

Council
eeting;-Council met in IIolmesville'on April
3. The Dep, of Highways sent notice
that they would pay '75 % on bridges
costing $1,000, or more, the council
having let a contract last year for
building a bridge on Con, 14 and which
was not yet built. The Road Supt. was
instructed to consult the District
Engineer if the 75% 'would apply on
this contract. Mr. Frank Elliott asked
damages caused by the flood last
spring, the council offered hire . $36;
but which was not •accepted,
Dept. of Municipal Affairs sent
notice that one mill subsidy will be
paid each municipality on their as-
sessed value, also a further subsidy
of one mill for educational purposes.
Dept. of Highways approved of by -
law increasing the salary of the Road ham.
Supt. The . same Dept. approved of
by-law to provide 'for expenditure on
township roads during 1944.
The Dominion Road Mach. Co. sent
price for snow plow this was sent
