of engineering service partaking to
our new proposed sewerage system.
It was moved that we advertise in the
daily papers and the Commercial news
for applications for an engineer -Co
'survey the town and draw plans for
storm sewers and a sewerage system
for the town of Clinton. All appli-
cations to be in the hands of the clerk
by March sixth, 1944.
Mayor Agnew spoke of the matter
of the water system to the R.C.A.F.
Station, and as it pertains to the
Town,
Councillor Butler, as president of
the Welcome Home Committee re-
ceived,the full assurance from the
Mayor and coined that the Hall
would be free of charge for occasions
of any kind directly for the Welcome
Home Committee, also that Council
would grant the privilege of •a Tag
Day whenever it was felt advisable to
launch one.
Reeve Falconer proved the adjourn-
ment.

On Jan. 28, Mrs. Walters enter-
tained her Sunday School Class. This'
was a hard thne party, and the 'best
costume was worn by Lloyd Bond. A
hard time lunch was served to about
twenty members. All enjoyed a plea-
sant evening. •
The Red Cross held their regular
meeting last Tuesday at. Oe home of
Miss S -Acheson with •the president;
Mrs.. Bill Jervis presiding, A •quilt
was quilted and lunch was served by
group one.

Ice Carnival. Draws Crowd
One of the largest crowds attended
the Ice Carnival in the local arena
last FriOay night sponsored by the
Huron. Fish and Game Club. From
the viewpoints of attendance and -cost-
umes it was conceded to be one of the
most successful sports events held
here in a number of years,
Miss Leota Freeman, young daught-
er of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Freeman,
was adjudged "Queen of the Carn-
ival". Her costume of pale blue and
silver, with white wand, was fashioned
after that of the Fairy Queen in
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".
The golden crown placed on her head
by master of ceremonies, J. C. Shear-
er completed the picture. Prize was
$7.00.
A special feature, which proved
hilarious was the "broom ball game"
between Clinton's Masked Marvels
and the R. C. A. F.
Prizes ranged fromv25 cents to $2,00
for the sport events and the winners

funeral of a former school 'chum Mrs.
Myrtle McBride, in Clinton on Satur-
day,

Warden Fred Watson attended the
Plowman's Association in Toronto on
Tuesday last.
Mrs. Roy. Scotchmer made a busi-
ness trip to Windsor on Monday last.
The last Red Cross meeting of the
Bronson Line was held at the home of
Mrs. Russel Heard. The next meeting
is to be held at the Nome of M, rs.
Sam Helmer.
