St. Paul's Friendship
Club Christmas Party
The Friendship Club of St. Paul's
Anglican Church held its annual
Christmas Party in the Parish hall
with 35 members present; nearly
all came dressed as children. Connie
Mooney' was acclaimed "Miss Friend-
ship of 1948,"
Evelyn Hall, as Mrs, Santa Claus,
presented gifts to everyone in -at-
tendance. A baby photo contest was.
held and progressive games. Follow-
ing lunch carols were sung and Rev.
R. M. P. Bulteel pronounced the.
Benediction, Much credit for the
success of the evening goes to the
committee in Charge, Mrs. George
McLay, Mrs. Dennis and Miss Eve-
lyn Hall.
Will all members please note -the
packing of the Christmas baskets
will be held at the Rectory on 'Tues-
day afternoon, December 23, at 3
o'clock. Be sure and have your
cookies and candy there ready for
packing.
Mission Band Holds
Fine Christmas Party
The Bob McClure Mission Band held
its December meeting in the form of a
Christmas panty in the Sunday School
room of Wesley Willis United Church on
Wednesday, December 10, at four o'clock
The members of the Onra,io St. MissionBand with their leader, Miss Wiltse, were
guests.
With Betty Lou Nediger in the chair,
the meeting opened with a hymn and
prayer. The minutes of the previous
meeting were read by the secretary, Feta
McGowan, and approved. The financial
report given by Gale Shearing, showed
the year's receipts to date as $52.
The .Seripture lesson was read by Don
Ross. • The offering was taken by Cam-
eron Addison and Stephen Brown, foll.
owed by the Dedieatory Prayer by Marj..
orie Currie.
The story of "Tiny Tim" was ably
read by Don Cornish. .Announcements
were given by Mrs, 1'ingland and details
of the packing of the Christmas pared
for England were given. Two parcels
were packed, 30 pounds in all, for three
needy ehildren in England. These con -
tabled a few toys, but mostly food and
Ohristmas treats, all donated by individ-
ual members and packed by the executive
Marilyn Martin read a letter from an
English child who is her pen pal and
which was very •timely and well-written:
The slides of "The Christmas Story"
and "The Bible goes round the world"
were then enjoyed. The meeting closed
with the Hymn "Silent Night" and the
Benediction.
Six members— Holvin Jervis, Stewart
McGowan, Doris Cooper, Betty Fitzsi-
mons, Gary Cooper and Jean Fitzsimons
—served the refreshments which consist-
ed of cookies, sandy, and ice cream bars.
G. 'E. Hall retuned on Saturday, after son and daughter in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
spending the past few weeks with his Gordon L, Hall, Cayuga.
