The regular meeting of W A of St.
Paul's .Cliurch.was`held on Tuesday,
November 18, at the home of the
Misses Thompson. The President was
pleased to welcome an unusal number
of members and visitors, and in the
opening prayer service asked the
Rector to read- the 'Script -we select-
ion. Rev. Mr. Buiteel also gave some
explanatory meniarks an the passage.

to our country. The Church helps
to determine what type of Citizens
these people will drake.
The meeting was closed with prayer
followed by a social half hour.

her sister, Mrs, C. Kay, Lapeer,

Junior Farmers Enjoy
Trip to Winter Fair

representing ,Blyth, Clinton and
South Ruon Junior Ferment and
Junior Institute Clubs, motored to
Toronto by chartered' bus on. Satur-
day morning, November 22 to be
guests' of the Royal Winter Fair
Board at the big Winter Agricultural
Shaw. All the members of this group
received complimentary tickets from
the .Royal Winter Fair Board ad-
mitting them to the giounds and to
the afternoon Horse 'Shovw in the
Coliseum. The group returned by
chartered ,bus late Saturday night,

HOSPITAL AID MEETING
The December meeting of the
Hospital Aid will be held in the
Council Chamber Tuesday, December
2. ;At this meeting the report of the
recent Annual Convention of the As-
sociation, held in Torontowill be
given by the president.

The WA of the Presbyterian
Church will hold a supper pasty in
the ohureh basement on Tuesday,
December 2 :at 6 p.m. This will he
followed by a programme and the
election of offikers.

brothers following which the Clinton

the Collegiate Instituth on Wednes-

The death occurred in Clinton on
Sunday, N!aveasber 9, of one who lived
most of his line in Hayfield in the
';person of Henry Darrow,
The deceased man was born in Col=
mine, County Derry, Ireland, ,Feb-
ruary 6, 1863, and was brought to
Canada with his brother John and
Blyth Boys' and Girls'
Band Greatly Enjoyed
A. fair erowd was on hand Sunday
evening when Diyth Boys' and' Girls'
Band made .its Hirst appearance as
a unit in ,Clinton Town Hall and pre-
sented a very fine eoneert, under the
,auspices of Clinton Citizens' Band.

coming diaeetly to Bayfield to Mrs.
Darrow% brother, John Eagleson.
Hairy, as 'he was familiarly arl known,
remained to make his home with his
uncle,
IIe was ,married to Elizabeth
Ahrens, •widow of James Pollock. For
a time they ran the Queen's. hotel
and thenlater the Commercal Hotel
for a number of years, when he be-
canne widely known as the genial 'and
eourteous host of •a good hostelry.
In his younger days he was an ar-
deprc fishenvnan and up until two years
ago 'iris garden was his pride and joy.
IIe was :also 'musical and many of the
older folk have danced to the tunes
from his fiddle. During World War
I, his services in this respect rwere
freely given for any patriotic benefit.
Until about' a year ago when failing
health •overcame hien, he retained a
wonderfully clear memory of Bay-
field in iris boyhood days. He was one
of the oldest members of LOL No. 24.
Mrs. Darrow ,predeceased her hus-
band in March, 1922. He is survived
by a half-sister, Mrs. James Dewar,
Brumfield, and two step -sons, Harold
Pollock, Toronto, and Clarence PPI -
lock, Goderioh.
The funeral service was held from
Hall Brothers • Funeral Hone, Clinton,
November 11, and interment took
place in Bayfield' Cemetery,.
