town hall Friday evening last, proved
a great success, particularly to the
gaily -dressed members of the young-'
er generation for whose especial
benefit the affair had been arranged'.

Tuckersmith Township Council: met
in the Town Hall, !Seaford),on Sat-
lirday, November 1, at 2 p.m. All
members were preeent and Reeve Ar-
thur- Nicholson presided.
The aceeacsnent roll, showing an
assessment of $2,163,587, was return-
ed by Assessor Janne A. Hay, and he
paid salary of $276 and postage' of
$3. Count of Revision on same was
set for November 15, 1947, at 2 p.m.
Complaint was made to council' by
Oliver Rlowcliffe, owner of Lot 1,
Cone 3, :CBIS, that the Mitchell drain
was in need of repair, and the clerk
was instructed to notify Engineer S.
W. Archibald to report on same.
Grants of $10 each to Hensall and
Seafonth Legions were made fora
wreath for Remembrance Day:'
Council rescinded a motion of O!:
tober 18. meeting 36 raise $1,000 by
taxation for grants made to Scott
dh'eonorial :Hospial in 1947 and decid-
ed to apy same out of surplus.
John McKenzie appeared before
council and asked- a partial reba.•te
'of taxes paid on the portion of
Eganondville •Church sheds, of which
he is owner, and matter was referred
to Court of Revision.
Accounts passed were as follows;:

drain $50; salaries $375; selecting
jurors $12; roads $1,526.43; grants
$20; postage $8; sundry $34.75.
