Harvest Thanksgiving Service held in
St. Paul's Anglican Church.'
Both morning and evening ,services
were conducted by Rev. G. P. Parson,
St. Marys, with Squadron Leader T.
Dale , Jones, Protestant chaplain at
RCAF Station ,Clinton, assisting,
Special music was rendered by the
choir, and the church was very ap-
propriately decorated with fruit and,
vegetables in true harvest home fast„

Dr. Cordy remarked that the last
,time he had visited Clinton was when
he was Minister of Education and
spoke in the Collegiate Institute. He
recalled that in 1874-75, the rector
of this famous ,parish was :Rev. Tho-
mas 'Cutler DesBarres, who was his
immediate predecessor at St. PauI's,
Toronto.
Taking his text from Amos 8, Dr.
Cody declared that agriculture lies
at the ,basis of our civilization.

ers went on strike! he asked. "We

was in Bayfield Cemetery,_.

Flower (bearers were six `nephews of
the' deceased: Roy Consitt, John and

a very kind husband and very good to
his family and his parsing will be
missed in his home, and by his re-
latives, and a wide circle' of friends; '
Deceased pasted away in Victoria
Hospital, London, October 6, follow-
ing- an operation. A resident of Hen -
sail for 54 years he was born in Stan-
ley Township, and was in, his 77th
year. Up until two weeks before his
death when he was taken to hospital,
he was busily engaged in his daily
duties and a .familiar figure on the
street. For 21 years he'was caretaker
of Hensall Town 'Hall and' Policeman
for that period, 16 years caretaker of
the school. He was a member of the
United Ohuroh..
