The Presbyterian 'Church, Glinton,
effectively decorated with autumn
flowers and candelabra, made a lovely
setting at 2 ,p.m., .Saturday,October
4, 1947, for the marriage of Jean
!Margaret !Mongan and Roy Froder •
ick Olsson. The bride is the only
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Thomas
W. Morgan, Clinton, and the groom
is, the son of Mr,, and Mrs, Roy (Bi-
son, Terrence Ave., Loudon.
Rev. D. J. Lane performed the
double -ring ceremony, Traditional
bridal music was planted by :Mrs. Bert
Boyes who also accompanied' the so-
loist, Miss Edith Frost, London, whose
selections mere "The Lord's Prayer"
and "Because".
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride chose a floor -length gown
of cream slipper satin with off the
shoulder neckline with pleated flange
collar and lily -pointed sleeves. Her
headdress, studded with pearls, held
a finger-tip veil, and she carried a
bridal bouquet of Peerless red roses,
Miss rOatherine Jefferson, Toronto,
was maid of 'honor and wore an ora
chid gown styled on similar lines to
that of the bride. .She wore match-
ing headdress and mittens and car
tried Johanna Hill roses. Miss Joan
011son, sister of the groom, as brides-
maid, wore turquoise and carried yel •
low roses.
Donald Black, London, was best
man„ and ushers were Robert Morgan,
Clinton, brother of the bride, and Don
Gilson., London, brother of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception
was held at the home of the bride's
parents, Isaac St., where Mrs. Mor-
gan received wearing .a grey crepe
frock with brown accessories. She was
assisted by the groom's mother who
wore turquoise 'blue with black ac-
cessorie, Botts wore corsages of pink
roses, Miss Winnifred Hunt, Toronto,
poured tea.
For travelling to Northern Ontario,
the bride donned a dressmaker striped
-suit of brown gabardine with match-
ing accessories. Mr. and rsirs• Mon
'will reside in London, where the bride
is on the staff of the Occupational
Therapy department of Westminster

hospital. Out-of-town guests were
present from London, St Thomas, To,
ronto, Hanover and 'Glen St. Mary,
Florida.

signing of the register, Mrs, William
Acheson, Lindsay, aunt of .the groom,

The." bride, given in marriage by
her father, was lovely in a white
embroidered satin gown with a net
overskirt, The crest' was fashioned
with g tiglut bodice, full skirt, and -
long lily point sleeves, Her Dutch
cap headdress caught her finger -.tip
veil of illusion net. She 'wore a double
strand of pearls, the gift of the
groom, and carried a cascade bou-
quet of Talisman roses.
Attending the 'beide was Miss Peg-
gy `'Stulbbington, Goderich, who was
wore a flower headdresszbr•ollctm,rn
gowned in sky blue silk jersey, wear-
ing a flower headdress and car`r'ying
a cascade of yellow 'anums.
Robert Harris, brother of the
groom, was best -man and the ushers
were Glenn Keene and Kenneth Har-
ris.
Following the ceremony a recent

Hotel Clinton, where Mrs. White re-
ceived wearing a black crepe frock
with pink accessories. She waa assist-
ed by Mrs. Harris wearing a grey
wool suit with black accessories.
Both wore corsages of pink roses.
For travelling to Detroit and other
points, the bride donned a grey wool
suit with black, and American Beauty
accessories. On their return they will
reside on the groom's farm in God-
erich Township.

Miss Madeline McCullough was her
sister's bridesmaid. She was gowned
in pink satin with matching head-
dress and shoulder -length veil. She
carried a bouquet of JoHanha Hill
roses.
Little 'Miss Marjorie Currie, niece
of the groom was 'a winsome flower
girl gowned in yellow aatin. She
carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
James Dinsmore, Hensall, was best
man, and the ushers were Clayton
McCuliough, brother of the bride,
and P'red Kelly, Brucefield.
The wedding music was played by
Mrs. John Cairns, Brucefield, aunt of
the groom, and .Mrs, Andrew McKenz.

The Hospital Aid auction gale re-
alized a profit of $326.45, according
to the treasurer's report at :the
monthly Meeting of Clinton Hospital
Aid, held 'in the town hall Tuesday
evening.
The president, Mrs. L. M. McKin-
non, thanked alll,tbe members of the.
committees and other helpers at the
sale, She also thanked Mrs, Mynas,
Hayfield, and Mrs, McTaggart for do-
nations and all others.
Mrs. A. I4addy reported for the
supply committee, and Mrs. Mae

ed with gladioli, ferns, anti .lighted
hopers in ivory candelabra, was the
setting for a pretty wedding Satur-
day afternoon, September 27, 1947,
at 2.30 o'clock when Alice Isabel,
daughter of :Ur .and Mrs. John S.
Kerndgham, Colborne township, be•
carne the bride of 'Chaster George J.
Sturdy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin
Sturdy, Goderich township.
Rev. S. E, Hayward officiated, The
wedding music was played by Miss
Mary Joyce 'Strachan, Goderich; and
the soloist, Miss Vivian Straughan,
Auburn, sang "The Lord's Prayer"
during the ceremony and "When Song
Is Sweet" during the signing of the
register.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a gown of net over
satin, with a fitted barque bodice
buttoned down the back, fingertip
sleeves of brocaded taffeta, sweet-
heart nylon -net yoke, and bouffant
skirt of net. Her floor••lengtb veil
and headdress wore of Premix illusion
net, and small clusters of orange
blossoms and lilies adorned the sides
of her off -the face 'headdress. She
carried a cascade bouquet of Peerless
red roses.
(Miss Helen 'Montgomery and Miss
Dorothy Moore, Benmiller, were
bridesmaids, wearing floor -length
gowns in turquoise and fuchsia shades
respectively, made on 'flowing Gre•
cian lines, with cape flung over the
left boulder and the a+cirt caught at
the waist with rainbow tucking. Both
wore catching headdresses and gloves
and carried bouquets of chrysanth-
emums in autumn shades. Mr. James
Keys, Varna, was best man: and the
ushor•s were Mi, Harry Montgomery,
cousin of the bride, and Mi. Donald
Kernighan, brother of the bride.
After the ceremony, a reception
was held at the Park House, Goderich,
the bride's mother receiving in a
pearly grey faconne crepe dress with
black .accessories and picture hat.
The bridegroom's mother wore a gray
wool ensemble and a gray hat with
pink ostrich tips. Both wore coi'asges
of pink ,Briarcliff roses. Place cards
for the guelits had been designed and
made by an aunt of the bride. For
a wedding trip to the United States,
the bride chose a brown crepe two-
piece dress, beige topcoat, and brown
accessories. On their return they will
reside in Goderich Township.
Before the wedding, Mr's. Kernig-
lian gave a trousseau tea in honor of
her daughter. Miss Norma 'McDon-
ald, Toronto,an aunt of the bride,
poured tea, and Mrs, R. J. Johnston
and Mrs. Harold Montgomery served.
Mrs. Ken Hazlet, Goderioh, gave a
pantry shower in honor of the bride;
and Miss Dorothy Moore, Benmiller,
gave a miscellaneous shower.

Miscellaneous Shower
for Recent Bride -elect
Friends of Miss Geraldine White
gathered on the Monday night prior
to her marriage at the home of Miss
Audrey Grealis to honor the bride,
elect with a surprise miscellaneous
shower,
The gifts were cleverly arranged
in a basket underneath a watering
can gaily decorated with streamers.
Although taken by surprise the guest
of honor made a fitting reply thank-
ing her friends for their kindness.
Dainty refreehnnents served by the
hostess and assistants brought a very
pleasant evening to a close.
YPU RESUMES
The Y.P.D. of Ontario 'St. United
church have resumed their meetings
for the fall term and. welcome all
young people to join with them for
their meetings which are held' every
,Monday evening. There will be no
meeting next week on 'account of the
holiday, A special invi'ta'tion is ex-
tended to all young married couples.
Ontario St. WA Holds
Interesting Gathering
The October meeting of the W.A.
of the Ontario St. United church was
held Tuesday, Oetober 7, in the Sun-
day ISehool room.
Mrs, F. Townsend opened the meet-
ing by singing Hymn 577 "Come ye
thankful people come". Hymn 327 was
read in unison as a prayer and psalm
751 was read responsively..
Mrs, W. J. Wooifrey, taking the de
votion'al period, read psalm 100 and
Exodus Chapter 15 and alio gave a
short talk 011 the life of. ,Miriam.
Hymn 41 "O• for a thousand tongues
to sing" was sung and Mrs, Woolfrey
cloiled this paled with prayer.
Reports from the various commit-
tees were read. Several items of
business were elischslsed, Lunch for
the month of November will be serv-
ed, by the ladies of the London aid
Huron Roads.
Two very fine readings were given
by Mrs. Reid on "Women who serve",
and Mrs, Townsend an "A small boy's
lidea of mothers". !Miss Phyllis Hanly
favored the lacliea during lunch. hour
withseveral piano selections which
were muoh enjoyed.
A social half-hour was spent at
the close of the ,meeting with the
ladies of the Gravel Road and the
second of Hallett serving tasty re-
freshments.
Friendship Club Plans
to Ship Bale West
The Friendship Cub of St. Paul's
Anglican church met alt the home of
Mrs. Luella Cook on Wednesday .ev-
ening with 17 members present.
Wool was given out for knitting
articles for the bale for Endeavour,
Sask. It was decided to sponsor films
shown under the direction of the
Federation of Agriculture, 'the first
showing to be November 3 in the
Parish Hall, and will be open t6 the
general public. Hospital plans were
discussed but lett over for the next
meeting.
Ma's. George lilcLay will hold the
next meeting at her home on October
15, and will be assisted by Msr. N.
Dennis. A special speaker is expected
so it is hoped, that every member
will make an effort to be present.
