Chicken Banquet.
An excellent e'hielcen banquet was
held in the Lodge 'MOMS Tuesday
evening, September 23. Following a
bountifid 'Ripper •a Meat programme
was enjoyed. John .A. :Sutter • was
chairman for this part of the even-
ings entertainment. The programme
consisted of violin selections by Cpl.
A. R. Persan, with Benson Sutter ac-
companying at the piano; mouth org-

ings by G. H. Jefferson. Cards were
enjoyed for the balance of the even-

Up Slightly in County
Creamery production in Huron
County was slightly higher for the
first eight 'months of this year than
for the same period of last year,
according to the September dairy re-
port of the Ontario Department of
Agriculture.
Total production was 8,226,408
pounds as compared with 3,219,428
pounds for the corresponding period
of 1946, while in the month of Aug-
ust alone, production was 512,786
pounds as 'against 501,137 pounds.
Cheddar cheese production declin-
ed greatly, however, having been
664,742 pounds as compared with
1,186,972 pounds, although there was
only a slight decrease in August
from 181,587 to 178,196 pounds.

GODERICH LIONS OUT
Goderiche Lions were defeated . at
Ingersoll by Dresden 4-2 in the third
game of their OBA Junior '93" semi-
final. Ehch:team had won on their
own diamond and they turned in
smart nerfonnanee in Saturday's
genie with a fine display of hurling
by Holmes for the winners and Ain-
slie for Goderich.
Dresden collected a. total of nine
hits to five for Godereh. Holmes had
12 strikeouts and Ainslie 10, and in
arms the teams were equal, each
having two.

SUCCESSFUL RACES
;Running and harness races were
held in Seaforth Pair Grounds Sat-
urday sponsored by Kenilworth Jock-
ey Club Limited, Toronto. The track
was in perfect condition and the races
were, fast and thrilling. What might
have been a serious accident occurred
in the classifie& event first heat.
Although no one was hurt, Bob Lock-
hart, after throwing the driver, made
four complete rounds of the half -
mile track before he was stopped. In
the next heat this same horse came
out to win handily;

St. Marys, Intermediate "B" Huron..
Perth ehanmions, who defeated Clin-
ton :Colts in two games, evened the
best of three series with the 1946
OBA Intermediate "B" champions,
Strathroy ;Royals, at ,St. lKarys Sat-
urday afternoon, defeating them 6-3
in a semi-final 063A game.
F. Blackman, pitcher for St. Marys,
was the leading hitter of the game
with two doubles and a single. Gal-
braith, for Strathroy, hit a
and a single, and Bob Noble, for St.
Marys, hit three for five, three
singles. Blackman, on the mound for
St. Marys, held Strathroy in check
with six scattered hits, issued four
walks and struck out three.
Fidgr, who started for Strathroy,
was touched for six hits and issued
two walks in the four innings he
worked. Cas McDougal, who replaced
him, allowed six hits, issued no free
passes and struck •out two. 17., Gra-
ham, Who pitched the ninth inning
for St. Marys, was touched for two
singles, but a double play hp Hall
to Pletcher and A. Noble, and a catch
by :At Noble, ended the .Strathroy
