pleasant motor trip 'last week going
to North Bay and across to Ottawa
and home. On their return they visit-
ed with 'Mr. and Mrs. Ian M1eLeod at
Dunvegan.
Mrs. 13. 13. Pocklington returned
Saturday night after spending a very
pleasant ;,week at Murray Bay. On
Friday of last week. Mr. Pocklington
flew from Montreal to England where
he will spend six weeks visiting
members of his -family.

Funeral services were largely at-
tended yesterday afternoon, Weiner-',
day, September 17, at his late rest
;donee, Rattenibury St. W., for Geoago,
Robert Taylor, who had passed away
in his 51st year. ;Rev. R. M. P. Bul-
teel officiated. Interment followed in
Clinton cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Gibbs, Mel-
vin Orioh, Edgar Armstrong, harry
Barbliff, Charles Pwitchell and Will-
iam Moffatt. Elmer .bearers •were
five .grandsons, William and Charles
Haply, Robert, Kenneth and .Murray
Taylor.

the Bayfield Line for Arthur Alex-
ander Welsh who passed' away atter
a Iengthly illness due to a heart con-
dition in his 67th year. Internment
took place in Clinton Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Edward Boyes,
Thomas Dunbar, Lawrence Stephen-
son, Wilbert Johnson, John Middleton
and Frred Thompson. Flower bearers
were Lee McConnell, 11, F. 'Reed, D.
W. G. Moore and Robert Dunbar.
IMr. Welch was born at his late
residence January 16, 1884. With the
exception of a few years in his child-
hood when the family resided in

Mr, Taylor, :a life-long resident of
Clinton, was -horn of pioneer parents,
Thomas Taylor and Anne Barrett,
both long slime deceased, on January
6, 1867, on 'Mill 34,, Clinton.
As a young man he joined the C.
N.R. and worked until retirement
with the Bridge and Building depart
anent. Tai religion he was strong Ang-
lican and -while his heaibh permitted
was .a very regular attendant at
church worship. He was ono of the
oldest lifelong members of the chmob.
In politics he was a staunch conserva-
tive.
Mr. Taylor was a quiet •home -lov-
ing man and ,took no active pact in
any organization. He was very fond
of flowers and the profusion of flor-
al tributes which surrounded the cas-
ket were mute testimonies to the
esteem an which he was held.
Suffering from a heart condition
for over .two years, Ise 'led to take

Mx. Taylor was the last member
of a family of four. He is survived
by hie wife, the former Annie Jean.
ette Maker, whom he married Novean-
ber 6, 1902. As well there aro two
sons, Stewart and Barrett, both of
Clinton, four daughters, Leona, Mrs.
Charles Lockhart, Goderich, Kathleen-.

ehip, Jeanette, ]Vire. Thomas Deeves,
