This article shows the, picture of Fred Wallis, younger. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. 0. J. Wallis, of town. The article concerns the work of the •M'etropolitan Life Insurance Conn. panyt_ Part of its work in investing the money "loaned" them by people who use their insurance policies is used for a building program and at the present time they have several housing projects under way. The pic- ture shows Mr. Wallis and two other gentlemen looking over plana for Stuyvesant Town, a 490 million New York "city" which will house 24,000 people. Mr. Wallis graduated from the Clin- ton schools and later from the school of Practical Science, University of Toronto. He manned the former Ahbie Stewart; daughter of Mr. and' Mrs. Adam Stewart, Stanley Township. They have two children, Abigail Anne and Charles Adams. The family live in Westport, Conn., and Mr. Wallis commutes daily to hie work in New York (Sty. ' Mr, Wallis is a brother of W. C. Wallis, of town. The average housewife spends one third of all her daytime hours in the kitchen.
