sharp, Friday, August 22.
!C'olts won the first game art home

ton. rSo there you are!
Staffa 9 Clinton Colts
K was 'Colts' .first defeat of the
season and there was no particular
reason for it except that the Staffa
batters pounded the Clinton pitcher
all over the lot. The count was three
run's en five hits in the first inning;
four runs on three safe 'hits in the
second; and two runs on two sae hits
and an error in the third. And there
the scoring for Staffa stopped.
But •Colts were too late getting
started, their four-rui ouburst in Clic
sixth and one in the seventh, being
a 'little short in the race for time
and light, Only 61/z innings were
played, umpire Schilbe calling the
game sharp at 820 pm.; it did not
get started until 6.29 pan, Bob Sadler
pitched real nice ball for the winner..
and was given good support. Celts
lost through their, own mistakes.
