Richwears Drop First
To Wingham Indians 15-3
Clinton Richwears had a good
crowd on dnsnd in Community Park
here last evening for the opening.
snatch of their WOAA Senior Past -
ball :season. but Whelan]. Indians
took a little of the kick out of it by
romping off the field with .a 15-3
victory.
Their play showed it was Rich -
wears' first match of the season, as
it was ragged. and their batting was
very weak against the slants of elon-
gated Higgins. They managed only
three safe hits, one of these being a
homer by Gordon Ross, who went in
as a relief pitcher in the final inning,
The visitors banged four Croton
twirlers for seven hits, but errors
were plentiful on the part of the
Knitters -too ,plentiful; in fact. Thew
supporters are hoping theywill put
up a better showing in Goderielh to-
morrow 'evening.
Powell was on the mound for four
innings, followed by Ted !Sanderson
for two, Dave Colclough for two, and
Gordon Ross for one. It seemed 'to
be a try -out night for the :hurlers.
