The Wolf Cubs will play a game
of softball with Wingham Wolf Cubs
on Thursday, 'May 29, at 6.30 p.m.
at the Public School grounds, Clin-
ton. All are invited tocome and
see these young 'ball players take
Part in this game, and thus give
them some encouragement.

BOWLING BITS '
The general meeting of the Ladies'
Lawn Bowling .Club will be held on
Thursday evening, Witty 29, in the
Council Chamber at eight o'clock.
All members are urged to be pres-
ent. Any ladies who would be inter-
ested in the Club 'will be most wel-
come.

been dong .some work on Community
Park including- extensive gravelling
near the entrance, and sections of
new wire on both sides of the race i
track in front of the grandstand.
The land has been very damp for
proper grading, and the baseball
diamond still needs a lot of work
on it.

AUBURN IN 'F1rOAA
Auburn, which operated in cam-
Abination with Blyth last year, has
entered intermediate, bantam and
'peewee baseball teams in the WOAA
this year. It is grouped with Kin-
cardine, Goderieh and. Lncknow in
the .intermediate series, with George
Shewfelt, Kincardine, as convener.
Baseball Season Opens;
Hensall Here Thursday
In pneparaltion for the opening o2
the baseball season in Community
Park, Clinton, next Thursday even-
ing, when Hensall-Zurieh. Combines
will be the guests,' an enthusiastic
meeting was held in the Town Hall
Monday evening with President Gor-
don Miller in the chair, to complete
organization of CIltntan Colts, ctu-
rentlyentered in the Huron -Perth
!League, .intermediate "C" series.
Clarence J. "Shim" Livermore was
appointed manager, with Andy Steep
as assistant manager, and Ted .Sand-
erson was named coach. Now sta-
tioned tat Centralia, Ted formerly
was associated with R. and C. S.
teams, and should prove a great help
to the local club.
J. Roggarth was placed in charge
of grounds, and Doug Bantliff will
look after equipment,
Uniforms hare been ordered and
are exxpetced to be here in time for
the first game next week. Various
(
local 'business firms, are purchasing
the uniforms and presenting them to
the Club.
A deputation interviewed the Board
of Park Management Tuesday even-
ing and was assured that there would
be no charge this year for Community
Park for,amateur sports. It was
hinted, however, that a contribution
et the end of the season Wright be
welcome,
them being convened by John Bell,
Listowel dairyman, who a year ago
was S/L John 13e11, sparkling second
sacker of Clinton R. and C. S.,
WOAA champions.

ARENA CAMPAIGN
The campaign to raise funds for
Goderciclr's proposed artificial ice
arena gets under way May 24 with
a gala day, and the drive itself will
start May 26. More than $'2,000 al-
ready has been subscribed, including
$1,500 from Goderieh Lions Club, The
slogan of the drive is: "Healthful"

A good number were present at
the regular meeting of Clinton Lodge
No. 83, 100F. on Tuesday evening.
During the evening four new .ment-
hers were received into the lodge,
three of ahem by initiation. Plans
are under way to visit some lodges
in the district for having degrees
conferred and also a church service is
being planned.

- intermediate, junior and midget.
The intermediates are sponsored by
Ivan_ Lotman, The Lions Club is
sponsoring bdf> juniors and midgets,
with .Don Mason and Judge T. M.
Oostefo in charge of the former, and
Fred Noble and Jake Snyder in
charge of the midgets. A town
league of young bays is being or-
ganized with Eddie Jessop and Jack
Evans in charge.
