Elizabeth Ann Smith, familiarly
known as "Bessie", rwas horn in Stan-
ley Townships. a daughter if the late
Donald and Annie Snnith. She spent
her early life 51 her native townshipand then moved with her family to
Clinton. For a number of years she
was a finisher at the Clinton
Mg Itnitt•-
g Company Limited.
Miss Simi*had suffered from a
heart condition for about three years
but had only been seriously ill about
six weeles which time she had been a
patient in .Clinton Public Hospital
where her 'death occurred on Wede
nesday ,afternoon, May 14.
In religion Miss :Smith was Presby-
terian, later United Church of Canada
being• a member of Wesley -Willis
ohuroh. She took a keen interest in
the 'Girds' 'Club of the church. She
was also a member of B'uranie Re-
bekah Lodge, No. 306, and was a
Past Noble Grand. This lodge held
a very impressive memorial service
at the .FuneralHome .on Thursday
evening.
Surviving are one sister, Mary, Mrs
E. G. Howes, 'and an aunt, Miss Min-
nie Walker, broth of •Clinton.
