The 'annual meeting of Clinton
Lawn Bowling Club was held in the
TownCouncil Chamber, with the
President, .Card W. Draper, and 15
other members •present. The treas-
urer's report showed a favourable
balance of $122.21.
Officers were 'elected 'Ivy acclama-
tion as follows: President, Caryl W.
Draper; vice-president, J. A. Sutter;
secretary -treasurer, J, G. McLay.

The outside tournament .commit-
tee were ,asked to attend the district
meeting at Mitchell and to nay the
membership (fee of $3. It was de-
cided tojoin the Provincial Lawn
]h was 'decided that jitney prizes
be donated ,by ,the club rpemibers tak-
ling the names in alphabetical order,
three members to donate prizes each
jitney night, and total prizes to cost
approximately $3.
IAi, D. MoOartney, for the grounds
committee, stated that $350 had been
spent including the cost of ground,
draining; and levelling. More levell-
ing, seeding ,and (fencing will have to
be done. Et is hoped to have the
ground in shape for play in 1948.
A considerable number -.of compli-
mentary remarks were made in con-
nection with the Ladies' Clulb. Fin-
ally, a motion was passed that the
Club convey to the ladies its thanks
for their financial assistance and
for the extra enthusiasm and fun
which they installed into the 'Club.,

BIGGER AND BETTER.
It .looks as if the Huron -Perth
Baseball League is going to be big-
ger and better than ever this year,
judging by a report published else-
where on this page. And all the
teams will be from the two counties.

Clinton Intermediate Baseball Club
has been changed from Friday until
Monday, April 28, in the Town Coun
cin Chamber, commeneing at 7.30 pm.,

The alley bowlers will have their
big night tomorrow evening when
they wind up a very 'successful sea-
son with a banquet in Glennie's
Restaurant. Trophies and prizes 'will
be presented. .

Sportsmen from ,this district who
plan to visit 'Stratford had better
watch out, for one of that city's
brand new cops is Orville 0. Huras,
well known hockey and baseball play-
er, who displalyled his wares here
with 'Stratford Legion this past win-
ter. Ile is a veteran of service with
the 8ONVR.
SOCCER REVIVAL?
They're talking about a revival of
interest in soccer at Goderieh this
year, •with Ray Cooper attempting
to organize an eleven around the
nucleus of some of the old champion-
ship Port rAlber t team of war days.

SPORTS VERY ACTIVE
Sports of all types seem to be very
active in .Clinton this season, as The
NEWS-REbOIRID publishes reports in
this issue of reorganization meetings
of no less than four sports lawn
bowling, harness racing, softball, and
baseball. Lack of space prevented
publication of one or two of them
last week.

WOAA TO BE ACTIVE
Western Ontario Athletic Associa-
tion plans a very active season of
baseball and softball in mostly all
series. The annual spring meeting
in Wingham Town Hail Thursday
evening last was attended by Wesley
Vanderburgh, Jack Seruton, Norman
Livermore and Dick Atkey, as rep-
resentatives of Clinton Softball Club,
whieh will have an entry. Residence
date is May 1 and date for signing
certificates is June 21. A school for
Softball .coaches will be held at Wing -
ham May 14 when the schedule will
he drawn up.

was reorganized for the corning sea-
son at a well -attended and enthus-
iaetie meeting in the New Commer-
cial Hotel, Hensall, last evening.
Officers were elected as follows:
President, ,LeRoy O'Brien, Zurich;
past president, Stan Tudor, Hensall;
1st vice-president, Elmer D. Bell,
Exeter; 2nd vice-president, R. Newell,
St. Marys; secretary, J. It. Butler,
Clinton; treasurer, John Livermore,
Clinton; OBA convener, David Wil-
son, 'Seadorbh,
Intermediate teams entered are
Hensall, lastyear's champions; Ex
'cter, Clinton Colts, Lucan, Mitchell,
and possibly Zurieh; and in addition,
throe new teams this year: Clinton
R. and C. School, St, Marys and
Staffa. These will form a compact
group which should produce some
real competition.
There is a possibility of a juvenile
series, with St. Marys, Exeter and
Tenders Wanted
