Ontario St. WMS iBritish War Bride
Holds Thankoffering Honored by Friends
The, Easter Thankoffering meeting
of the WHS. of Ontario St. United
Church was ,held Tuesday afternoon
in; the school hall. The president,
Mrs. W. J.. Woolfrey, opened the
meeting with bhe hymn '0 Worship
the King." Psalm 701 was read in
unison.
Reports were then given by the
various departments and routine
business vett s conducted, • z
Mrs.. W. Plumsteel :had prepared a
very interesting paper on "Current
Events" and Mies ]i Plumsteel. pre-
sented it. Two chapters. of the
Study Book dealing with India were
conducted by [Mrs M. Wiltse. Ques-
tions were aske'd by Mrs. Glazier and
Hors. A. J. McMurray regarding "In-
dustry," "Labour" , and "Wages."
These questions ware answered by
Mrs. Wiltse who 'also dealt with the
. Women of India,
An impressive worship service clos-
ed the meeting, This service was
conducted by Mrs, N. Carter assisted 1
by :Mrs. Maltby, Mrs. B. J. Gibbinge,1
Mrs. Wheatley, ,Miss M. Wiltse and
Mrs, Aiken. The need for good lit
erature was stressed during this
service for the newly literate
Christian.
Mrs, A. W. Groves opened her
home on Monday evening to a lovely
event when neighbours and friends
gathered to we'looane to the commun-

The Hospital Neighbour Group, in
co-operation with the Hospital Aid,
is holding -its seventh in a series of
afternoon teas at the home of Mrs.
William Perdue, Huron •St., on Fri-
day, April 18. These are proving
most pleasant and profitable social
affairs. The group's objective is to
raise funds for a speeial . gift for
Clinton Public. Hospital.
Other hostesses have been Miss F.
R. Cuninghame, Miss Lily Kennedy,
[Misses :Davies, Mrs. Edgar . Arm-
strong, :Mrs. J. McGill, and -:Mrs. T.
Watt. At these teas there have
been travel talks, contests and musi-
