South Huron Agricultural Society
',Seed Show was held in the Town
Hall, Hensall, Saturday afternoon,
March 15. Professor Keegan of the
'CAC., Guelph acted as judge and
congratulated the Society on its fine
exhibits. The ProvincialWeed In
specter also addressed the meeting
on Weed E1•adication, J. J. Johnston
of the Department of Agriculture,
London, gave a very interesting dis-
cussion on the control of nick -rot and
water core in turnips.
In addressing the Society, Protfes-
sor Keegan discussed new varieties
of oats and barley. Beacom and
Beaver oats have rust resistance to
stem rust and some resistance to
led rust, and are high yielders of
grain. Montcalm barley, he said,
originated at MacDonald •College, is
the only smooth owned variety ac-
ceptable
ccee table to' malters in Canada. There
isen opportunity to grow this variety
in, this distaiot as a dash crop. •

Members of 'Teen Town Council
were guests of Clinton Lions Club at
the latter's regular dinner meeting
in St. Paul's Parish Hall Thursday
evening last, with President Caryl
W. Draper in the chair,
The Oratorical and 'Teen Age
Committee was he charge of the
programme, and R. S. Atkey, chair-
man, conducted the latter part of the
meeting, outlining this twin effort
of the Club.
Mayor Bill Hanly of 'Teen Town,
introduced the members of his Coun-
ell, as follows: - Reeve, Margaret
GEORGE LITTLE, constable of Bayfield, is one of 15 revolver
enthusiasts who keep their shooting eyes sharpened by weekly
competitions as members of •Clinton Revolver Club. Club members
make use of a standard 20 -yard pistol range, with shooting ports
opening, from Ellwood Epps well-appointed gun room.
Mr. Little has been a member of the club since its organization
four (years ago; he shoots in the high 70's, using the authorized
target with one -and -one -quarter -inch bullseye. He is shown using
his favorite Smith and Wesson .22-ealibre target pistol, with rib
sight. The Clinton Revolver Club is the successor to the Clinton
Rifle Club, which won an Ontario team championship, eight years ago.

unprecedented demand, are avail-
able from members of the Lions
Club and Federation of Agricul-
ture. They are priced at $2.60,
the price to include a large even-
ing's entertainment.

keting scheme, will be a meeting to
be held m the Town Hall, Clinton, at
2 pm., Tuesday next, March 25.
At this (meeting, speakers will be
present to explain the scheme to
members of the Huron( County Fed-
eration of Agriculture cream com-
mittee, and to township represen-
tatives.
Additional meetings for the same
purpose. have been arranged for Ex-
eter 'on Aptri] 7, Seaforth on • April 8,
and Belgrave on April 9,
It. is expected that the county -wide
vote will be taken in Huron County
during the month of April under the
auspices of the cream producers*

Directors Meet
The matter was thoroughly discus-
sed at a well attended meeting of
the directors of the County Federa-
tion in the Board Room, Ontario
Agricultural Office, Clinton, Tuesday
afternoon with President Russell
Bolton presiding.

who attended the province -wide

County Home Committee
Purchases Cemetery Lots
The County Horne Committee of
Huron County Couneil has authorized
the purchase of a block of lots in
Clinton Cemetery as.a burial place
for residents at ,the Home who' have
no relatives nor designated place of
burial. •
This action was taken following
a conference with the Cemetery
Committee of •Clinton Town Council
here'' last week, in order to assure
that perpetual care would be given, i
and that the` last resting place of
the aged p'eapie would be insured
against neglect.
