1 To 9-3 Decision
When blocked roads' prevented
Stratford Legion team from reaching
Clinton for Monday evening's •sched-
uled OHA Intermediate game, Clin-
ton R. and C. School came to the
rescue and played one of the post-
poned matcheewith Clinton Colts with
about 250 spectators in the seats.
The 'same teams play here again to-
morrow night.
The Cots won 9-3, leading 2-1 at
the end of the first period and 5-2
at the end of the second stanza.
Gordon "Rooster" [Muir, Seaforth,
was billed to referee the game but
his car got stuck in a snowdrift a
short distance west .of. ISeaforth and
he was unable to get here. He phon-
ed to this effect after 8.30 p.m.
Kelso Streets, Clinton, was pressed
into service and did a good job.
Colts were minus the services of
lefiawinger Harry Mcl•;wan who was
in London, unable to get home by
train or bus, and goalie Hal Stade,
who. !was unable to get here .from his
home at Zurich. .School •did not have
their starry centre, Olouthier, who'
incl not yet reburned from a "48."
The juvenile nctminder, Bob' "Hose"
Miller, did a good jab between the
posts. Ken 'Miller played left wing
on the second line in palce of Hunt
Mc3wan. Wasson, the junior centre,
replaced the absent Olouthier on the
Airmen's first line.
' There was one casualty when ,
Lavigne, School goalie, received a
head injury in the third stanza. Re)
was replaced by Bev. Cameionai, a
regular wingman, who hadn't donned
the pads for some time. Both R.
and C. S. goalies had plenty to de
at times and did a good job. In-
cidentally Cameron had tallied his
team's first goal.
Frank MdElwan was the leading
point getter for Colts, with four'
g• als ' and two assists. Clarence
Rabbit" Neilans was showered with
congratulations as he had just re-
turned from his honeymoon, having
been married en Saturday to Miss
Ruth Sharpe, who caught. for the
girls' softball team last siinnner.
It is unusual fora goalkeeper to
be penalized, but thats what hap
pened to Cameron of Radar School
in the :closing minutes of play in
the third period. A. teammate served
served his two -minute penalty for
tripping.

The nightcap was a scrappy garde
with ,the Airmen trying hard all the
way and staging a great fight against
Seaforth Beavers, the latter winning
7-4.
Count at the end of the first stanza
was 1-1, and at the end of the second,
4-3 for Seaforth. Each team tallied
twice in the third chukker, the clinch-
ing counters coming in the last five
minutes of play.
'Corbett ,played a sensational game
in the nets for the Airmen, and
loolcs like the find of the season. He
is quick nand agile, and it 'takes plenty
to beat him. The 'Seaforth forwards
had their own times solving his de-
fensive tactics as lie rolled and
sprawled but usually carne up with
the puok.
