Mrs. M. E. McFadden reterned to
her home in Cookstown Monday after
visiting in town. She was accompanied
by her sister, Miss Z. 'Cornish.
Friends of Mrs. L Dezzo will be
glad to know she is home from Clin-
ton Public Hospital after her opera-
tion and is coming along nicely.
Mrs. W. T. Livermore, Dundalk,
has been visiting with relatives in
tawn the past week and was a guest
with Mr. and Mrs. James Livermore.
Dr, E. J. and Mrs, Wildfang and
family, Moorefield, spent -Sunday at
Ontario St. Church parsonage, the
guests or Rev. and Mrs, W. J.
Woolfrey.
Mrs. A, E. Garriech and her daugh-
ter Satitlee, Windsor, expect to arrive
Friday to spend the Christmas
day with with Mrs. Garrioch's pareni,s,
and Mrs. G W. Nott.
Mr. and Mrs. William s. Conron
and small daughter Brenda, Wingham,
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W.
M. Nediger. Mr, Conran assisted in
the Carol Service in Wesley -Willis
United Church on Sunday night by
singing a solo. '
Engagements Announced
Mr. and Mrs. George Bayley, Hul-
lett Township, announce the engage-
ment of their daughter, Marjorie
Maxine, to Louis George ,butot, Lon-
don, son of Mr, and Mrs. S. Dutot,
Brucefield. The wedding will take
place the latter part of December.
Capacity Crowd Attends
'Christmas Carol Service
A. Christmas Carol Service /spon-
sored by the Young People was
held in Wesley -Willis Untfed Church
Sunday evening when the church
was filled almost to capacity. The
church was beautiful with Christma,s
deeerations and colored, lights.The
choir was eontposed of young people
of the congregation as well as young
people froan St. Paul's Anglican and'
Ontario Street T_Tnited Churches.
The oPerting 'number was a gallery
chorus composed of Ruth Potter,
Kathleen IvieGill, Margaret Frernlin,
Florence Aiken, Sheila Habgood,
Maxine, Miller, Coronna Werulorf and
Mrs. Benson Sutter. Rev. Andrew
Lane gave the prayers and Scripture
lesson. Solos were sung by Misses
Coronna Wendorf, Eileen Sutter and
William B. Conron, Wingharn, a for-
mer member of the congregation.

The Christmas meeting of the
Woman's Association of Wesley -
Willis United Church was held in the
church parlour on Friday afternoon,
December 13. The president, 1VIrs.
W, M. Nediger, was in the chair.
Mrs. Percy Livermore was pianist.
The opening hymn was "0 Little
Town of Bethlehem." Mrs. Charles
Nelson read the beautiful story of
the coming of the Saviour, and Mrs.
r. Cooper ofefred prayer, follow-
ed by the Lord's. Prayer in unison.
The recording secretary, Mrs.
George Jefferson and, the treasurer,
Mrs. ,Percy Manning, gave then- ire-
porti. Mrs. Wilfred Jervis reported
50 garments completed for the Red
Cross. Mrs. Saville made eight calls
on sick and slint-ins.
IA. hearty vote of thanks was tend-
ered the retiring president, Mrs. M.
Nediger, who an turn thanked Mrs.
Percy Manning for her .work as treas-
urer.
Carols were sung throughout the
meeting and an interesting program
was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Jefferson
gave a fine talk on the origin and
authors of inany of the most -loved
Christmas carols. Mrs. Percy Atkin-
son sang very sweetly "Holy Night"
and Miss Margaret Davies read a
charming story "The Glowing Tree'
by Margaret E. Sangster.
A. delicious tea was served k.y Mrs.
Alex Pladdy's group. There was a
splendid attendance.
