Entertain Friends
Donald and Glen Yunghltit enter-
tained some 24 of their friends on
Wednesday evening. During the even-
ing progressive erokinole and bingo
was played. Prizes for crokinole were
won by Shirley Robertson and Doll -
old Plunkett, while consols tion prizes
went to ErTOO Robertson and Bobby
Yungblut. Following this dancing was
enjoyed. Refreshments were served
by the hoots' mother, Mrs, Harry
Yungblut.

Rev. H. J. .Snell is a patient 111

underwent aii operation. Mrs. George
Wilkin, Coderieh,is nursing him.
Easter Lily M Bloom
Mrs. Herb Mogridge has an Easter
lily in bloom. Mrs. Mogrialge received
the lily last spring -while a patient
in Goderich Hospital. when it was
though blooming .she planted it In
the garden and it is in bloom agian.
Guests at Reeeptiot,
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ball were
guests of honor at a reception, held
in the Foresters Hall on Friday even-
ing. During the evening Mr, and
Mrs. Ball were called to the front
when Donald Sprung read an address
expressing good wishes, and William
Govier presented them with a purse
of money. Stanley expressed his ap-
preciation of the kindness shown to
he and his wife. Music for dancing
was supplied by Brawn Bros. of Port
Albert. Lunch was served.
Mr. Anderson, Belgvave, occupied
the pulpit of Knox United Church
last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Ferguson and
young daughter, Janice, Elmvale, are
visiting' the former's parents, Mr.
and Mrs, A. J. Ferguson.

W.M.S. Meets
The Women's Missionary Society
of -Knox Presbyterian Church held
their November meeting at the home
of Mrs. Fred Ross, on Thursday.
Mrs, Herb. Gooier was in charge, the
meeting opened with prayer by Mrs.
Richard MeWhinney. The Scripture
Psalm 108 was read responsively and
the "Tidings" prayer in unison. The
topic taken from the Study Book,
"Think of Africa" was taken by Mrs.
Wellington Good.
Mrs. Edgar Lawson took charge for
the election of officers, which result -

MrS , John Honking quietly cele-
brated her 91st birthday at the home
of her daughter, Mrs, George P.
Yungblut on Saturday.
Mrs, flunking was born in Esques-
Mg, near Toronto, a daughter of the
late ,John and Janet Howson, who
came' here as early pioneers from
Engiand. While living in Esquesing
her father followed the trade of shoe.
mager. They later moved to the 13th
concession of Hullett Township where
he took up farming. At that time
the houses were all log cabins and
Mrs. flunking' vividly recalls the
country being all bush.
She was educated at Londesbore
school and attended Hope Chapel New
Connection Chtuch on concession 13,
Hullett, but for some years a member
of the Auburn Baptist Church. On
December 3, 1875, she was married to
John Flunking.
Following their marriage the couple
continued to reside in Hullett. In
1890 they moved to Auburn Where
Mr. Flunking passed away in April
1897.
There were a family of seven, five
of whom are living: 'Mrs. Alrnina Far-
row, Milford, Del., 'U.S.A.; Mrs. Alice
Wilson Clinton; Mrs. George P.
Yungblut, Auburn; Wesley, Sea,forth;
Albert, Detroit. A daughter, Mrs.,
Longman, died 11 years ago and a
son, Joseph, passed away some years
ago.
Mrs. Flunking who makes her home
with her daughter, Mrs. Yungblut, is
in very frail health but enjoys having
visitors.
