The teams are: Centralia RCAF, Clinton Colts, Clinton' RCAF, Milverton, New Hamburg, all "B" teams; and Goderich, an "A" team. This is the same grouping as last year, except that New Hlam- bin% replaces Mitchell and Cen- tralia RCAF, Seaforth. Milver- ton defeated Clinton RCAF for the group title, it will be recall- ed. "Tory" Gregg, Wingham, is convener of t e group. Clinton Colts' attempt to secure the serdices of several Mitchell players, as Mitchell had dropped out of competition this year on account of lack of rink, fell on sterile ground - to date, at any rate. Although George Ranter ass- istant secretary of the OHA assur- ed Manager Bert Gliddon of the Colts that the Mitchell players would be eligible to play with Clinton an OHA executive meet- ing in Toronto Friday evening, ruled otherwise, and ordered the Mitchell players to line up with Seaforth or Dublin in "Tory" Gregg's WOAA Intermediate ser- ies. Local hockey moguls strong- ly suspect that the same Mr. Gregg had quite a lot to do with the action taken by the OHA Executive in refusing permission for the Mitchell players to play with Clinton, after permission had been given by no less a per- sonage than the assistant secre, tars of the Ontario Hockey As- sociation! They ask: "Is `Tory' Gregg attempting to get complete con- trol of organized hockey in West- ern Ontario with the placid com- pliance of the OHA, which - according to Jack Park, Sports editor of The London Free Press -is more concerned over the pro- fits of the Senior "A" and Junior "A" series, than the welfare of other less fund producing series?" One of these days there is lik- ely to be a big show -down on this matter of jurisdiction, it would appear, judging by the attitude of those interested in y/ppr,//►►►►yy►►yyy,+►►yy/►y/►yyy/► /yy yr/►/ ,yyyy►,h/oockkey,, notoynllyyt/hos/ee►yreessiidiyngg l►1fi►1IR11/:lL►1Lr1cfR3fr 111f-111rgrof3L'rZll3Lr17R n io l :lfllLrllR:lGrlLrllR:lll1 rgo 1I17l rxt See the New Lumitone Trilite LAMP AND RADIO Combined $49.50 with radio in base in this district but elsewhere in Ontario. Junior Group .Goderich and Seaforth are grouped together in Group No. 4", of the OI1:9 Junior' "C' series, with "Tory" Gregg, Wingham, as convener., This is a new venture for Sea - forth, as Bosharts have been famous as an Intermediate con- tending team -in "B" ranks for a number of years, Colts Will Operate For Sure -Manager Clinton definitely will have a hockey team in the OHA Inler- mediate "B" series this season, Bert Gliddon, manager of Clinton Colts, stated to The NEWS -RE- CORD to -day. Manager Glidden said he wish- ed to deny reports that the Colts would not operate this season. On the contrary, the team should be pretty well on; a par with other years. The Colts held an - ice workout in Clinton Lions Arena'last even- ing with eleven players in uni- form, while several of last sea- son's players were not out. Another practice is being held at seven o'clock tonight. The group schedule meeting will be held in Hotel Clinton Sunday afternoon. FOUR DELEGATES FROM CLINTON AT OHA ANNUAL James J. (Tiny) McFadyen, Galt, along with. other executive board members, was re-elected president of the Ontario Hockey Association at the association's 60th annual meeting in Toronto. It is his second term. Some 200 delegates from On- tario returned the entire 17 -man board by acclamation and made 20 minor changes in the league's ,constitution for the 1950-51 sea- son. ! Among them, representing Clinton Colts Hockey Club, were Jack Scruton, M. 3. Schoenhals, Bert Gliddon and Caryl Draper. They attended the OHA Junior "A" matches in the afternoon and the NHL game at night. W. A. Hewitt, Toronto, was renamed secretary of the associa- tion. Others returned include: George S. Dudley, Midland, as treasurer, and George Panther, Gravenhurst, as assistant secre- tary. Members•of the board in- cluding J. M. Roxburgh, Simcoe, Frank Buckland, Peterboro, and Even D. Brill, Guelph. 3. Delegates voted', by a show of yy hands, their approval of 20 of the 23 minor amendments to the constitution. p One of the main changes will 3 be a ruling on what constitutes a . full game -up to now termed by Mr. McFadyen as a "headache." P The ruling: If a referee calls a • game after two periods of play it will constitute a full game for A the records. If it is called off 4. Before the end of the second per- iod, it will be declared "no con- : test" and spectators will be giv- en free admission to the next scheduled game. • 0 F Large Selection of ELECTRIC LAMPS TABLE LAMPS, with genuine Italian marble base and silk shades $12.50 to $18 inge' POLISHED BRASS -BASED LAMPS, table Trilite, with swing- extension $11.50 ••+!»;»:M»:t+•$:L d »..44-..4•i.3•+i,e44.4 ,,k1-: 4• ++.14 r7'!Sk!P.'D etre..bi•+3 I•4.444-4 .:.4.
