NEEDHAM—MILLER bordered by a scalloped satin
Baskets of pastel -shaded glad-
ioli and snapdragons, palms, and
the soft glow of lighted tapers in
tall candelabra formed a lovely
background in North street Unit-
ed Church on Saturday afternoon
September 10, for the marriage
of Pearl Bernice, younger daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman W.
Miller, South street, to Robert
Ronald Needham, elder son of
Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Needham,
William street, all of Goderich.
The ceremony was performed
by Rev. C. Wesley Cope, and
Alex Clark played the wedding
music and acoinpanied the sol-
oist, Mrs. Benson Sutter, Clinton,
cousin of the groom who sang
"Wedding Prayer" before the
ceremony and "Because" during
the •signing, of the register.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride was lovely gowned
in white satin fashioned with
circularwhite nylon lace yoke,
bertha and lace sleeves. A lace
peplum was draped over the full
satin skirt which extended into a
slight train. Her full-length em-
broidered veil fell from a beaded
coronet and she darned a bou-
quet of red roses.
The matron of honor Mrs. Ver-
non Wagner, Preston, steer of the
bride, was gowned in pink taffeta
styled with fitted, bodice, full skirt
with bustle back. Mrs. Eugene
Ryan, Goderich, bridesmaid, wore
blue taffeta, and the little flow-
ergirl, Marilyn Miller, Clinton,
Cousin of the bride, was in pink
taffeta. They wore matching
shoulder -length veils and carried
bouquets of pink roses and white
chrysanthemums.
John Needham, was his...broth-
er's best man and th eushers were
Kenneth Miller, the bride's broth-
er, and Eugene Ryan.
A reception was held at the
Park House, where Mrs. Miller

parents on Saturday, September 3. The bride was formerly
Mary Elizabeth Culp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Culp,
Goderich, while the groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs.

received the forty guests, in a
gown of aqua crepe with black
accessories. She was assisted by
Mrs. Needham, mother of the
groom, wearing grey crepe with
black accessories. Both wore
corsages of pink roses.
Later Mr. and Mrs. Needham
left for a trip to Toronto and
Muskoka, the bride travelling in
a blue gabardine suit with black
accessories. They will reside in
Goderich,
Guests were present from Tor-
onto, London, Exeter, Clinton,
Preston end Goderich.
Prior to her marriage present-
ations were made to the bride of
a silver teapot by the Court House
staff; and a silver relish dish by
the choir of North street United
Church. The groom's associates
in the office of the Purity Flour
Mills presented the couple with a
silver cream and sugar set and
silver relish dish.
Mrs. Miller entertained for her
daughter the previous Wednes-
day at a trousseau tea, when Mrs.
Reginald Needham assisted in re-
ceiving the guests. Teo. was
poured by Mrs. Thomas Church-
ill, of Clinton, assisted by Mrs.
A. H. Erskine, Mrs. A. Alexand-
er, Mrs. C. Larder, and Mrs. Fred
Miller, of Clinton. Showing the
trousseau were Misses Mary Ann
Erskine and. Doris McCool and
Mrs. Eugene Ryan.

The wedding of Harriett C.
Henniek (nee Nelmes)t Strat-
ford, and Eizard F. Haim, Sault
Ste. Marie, Ont., took place on
Saturday, September 10, 1949, at
4 p,m., at the Parsonage of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church, Strat-
ford, Rev. G. N. Schaus officiat-
ed.
The bride was gowned in navy
blue crepe with a yoke of cut -
work and braid, with apron drap-

This change marks the return to business of Wil-
liam N. ("Bill") Ball, who is well known to this com-
munity.
Royce S. Macaulay, a brother-in-law of Mr. Ball,
' formerly resided ni Southampton, Ontario, and Detroit,
Mich. He has had many years of business experience
in those centres.

ford, where a dinner was served,

FLYNN—CARBERT
St. Joseph's Church, Clinton,
was the scene of a pretty wed-
ding on Monday, September 5,
1949, when Rev. S. J. McDonald
united in merriage Rita Gertrude,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
George Carbert, and Theodore
Domonic Flynn, son of Mrs.
Flynn and the late Owen Flynn,
all of Hullett Township.
Given in marriage by her
brother, . Timothy Carbert, the
bride was costumed in white
satin with nylon net yoke bord-
ered by a wide satin fold looped
with seed pearls. Her full skirt
was edged with rose 'iboint lace
and caught up with clusters of
pearl orange blossoms. She wore
a heart -shaped headdress of
orange blossoms to hold her long
veil of embroidered French illus-
ion and carried a cascade of
Starlight roses and Stephanotis.

Guilty of Bringing
Liquor Into County
Magistrate D. E. Holmes, K.C.,
convicted Kenneth Allen, Gode-
rich, of a charge of causing liquor
to be brought in Huron County
and dealt with for' other than his
own or family use, contrary to
the Canada Temperance Act.
Court reserved sentence fat two
weeks,
Crown Attorney H. Glenn Hays
pointed- out there was a previous
conviction in September, 1948,
when a fine of $50 was imposed.
Frank Donnelly, KC., counsel
for Allen, argued the case should
Mrs. Clem Reynolds, sister of
the bride, was matron of honour
in a bouffant gown of orchid
taffeta, with matching picture
hat. The bridesmaids. were Miss
Margaret Quigley, Detroit, niece
of the bride, in aqua taffeta, with
matching picture hat and gloves,
and Miss Vera Wild, Clinton, who
was similarly frocked. All the
adult attendants carried a bouquet
of yellow roses. A dainty flower
girl in primrose yellow organdy,
and carrying an old-fashioned
nosegay, was the bride's niece,
Miss Anna Marie Hartman, Ham-
ilton.
Thomas Flynn was best' man
for his brother and the ushers
were Aloysius Shanahan. and
Arnold Dale,
The bride's and 'groom's gifts
to the bridesmaids were com-
pacts, to the flower girl a locket
and to the best man a Ronson
lighter.
A reception followed at the
!Clinton Grill, the couple leaving
later for a trip to Northern On-
tario. The bride donned for
travelling a suit of cocoa brown
lgabardine with green accessories
and a corsage of roses, Mr. and
Mrs. Flynn will reside in Hullett
Township.
REPPINGTON—SMITH
A quiet church wedding was
solemnized in Wesley -Willis Unit-
ed Church on Saturday afternoon,
September 17, 1949, when Miss
Helen Smith, daughter of Mrs.
Bruce Smith, Clinton, was united
in marriage to Charles Repping-
ton, Wilsonville.
The ceremony was performed
by Rev. Hugh C. Wilson, and
traditional wedding music was
played by Mrs. Morgan J. Agnew.

The Townships of Stanley, Hay and Stephen in Huron
County are now Regulated Townships—the area south of the
Bayfield River and west of London Highway (No, 4) from
Clinton to ty4 miles south of Centralia. There is to be no
hunting On these Townships), of any kind until the opening
of the Pheasant Season, except for the taking of migratory
birds within the Townships mentioned. No person shall
carry or be in possession of a rifle until after the pheasant
shoot is over in these areas.
Township licenses are necessary tc hunt pheasant, rab-
bit and fox in these Townships, Licenses may be purchased
from the Township Clerks and other license issuers. Provin-
cial hunting license must be presented to the issuer before
Towship license will be issued.
Open Season on Black, Grey and Fox Squirrels
Throughout the province excepting the County of Bruoe:
November 11 and 12, bag limit 5 per clay.
Grouse, Spruce Grouse, Sharptailed Grouse and Ptarmigan:
In the counties of Huron, Bruce, Grey—October 8 --
October 29; five birds per clay.
Open Seasons for Pleasant—
