Mr. and Mrs. Ross Middleton and daughter, Sandra, spent the weekend in Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Middleton and family at their home, .4 South Lea, Leaside. Community Club Meets S.S. No., 4 Community Club met on' Wednesday of last week at the home of the president, Mrs. Walter Forbes, with the 2nd vice-president, Mrs. Jack Merrill, in charge. The meeting Was opened by repeating the Lord's prayer in unison. The roll call was answered by 11 members 1 and there were three visitors. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The secretary's report showed a balance of $77.37. During the meeting it was decided that the Club would have a weiner roast on the school grounds on the evening of Sept. 1. Come early and .enjoy the sports under the , supervision of Mrs. L. Pearson and Mrs, F. Jones, and the com- mittee appointed to procure weiners and rolls is Mrs. W. Forbes and Mrs. Bert .Lobb. The meeting was closed by repeating the Mizpeh benediction. A gift donated by Mrs. I, Teb- butt was won by a visiting lady, Mrs. C. Fitzgerald; London. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in quilting. The next meeting is to be held at the home of Mrs. F. Soper and daughters in the 'loss of a wife and mother who passed away in Clinton Public Hospit- al on Thursday, Aug. 11. This ser- vice is to be in charge of the YPU :and they are having Ewan Ross, Holmesville, as their guest speaker, His subject will be "Youth of Today." The music is being prepared by the young people. A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend this service on Sunday morning. Ebenezer WA Ebenezer WA held its regular meeting for August on the lawn of Mrs. Morgan Jones. The meeting was opened by the sing ing of a hymn. The roll call was "When, where and by whom you were married." During the business session of the meeting it was decided to hold a bazaar in Clinton, October 22. Plans were made for an ice cream social which is being held at the S.S. No. 4 School on Tuesday =even- ing, August 23, to which all are invited. A short program will be provided at this social even- ing. Mrs. C. Tebbutt read the Scripture reading and led in prayer, and the meeting was closed by a hymn and the Miz- pah Benediction. Following the meeting, a social hour was spent in sports and games, conducted by Mrs. C, Tebbutt and Mrs. I, Merrill. The following were winners: Kick - the -slipper, Dawn Biggin of Windsor; clothes pins relay, Mrs, Bert Lobo's group; carrying beans relay, Mrs. S. Farquhar's group; bean bag race, Edith Jones and Dawn Biggin; magazine race, Mrs. C. Williams and Mrs. W. Biggin. A bountiful picnic lunch was enjoyed by all. ' The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. F.
