Amid a setting of pastel gladioli
and tall candelabra the marriage
of Helen Irene Herman, ,elder
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T.
Herman, to Arthur Moffat, young-
er son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M.
Aiken, all of Clinton, was sol-
emnized ie St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Clinton, en Saturday af-
ternoon, August 13, at two o'clock.
Rev. Frank Herman, Mark-
ham, uncle of the bride, offic-
iated at the double ring ceremony,
assisted by Rev. R.M.P.. Bulteel,
Mrs. Dented Symons, sister of
the graoni; sang "0 Perfect Love"
end "Through the Years" accomp-
anied on the organ by Mrs. T.
Fremlin, aunt of the bride.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er the bride wore a gown of
petal white tissue faille ' fashion-
ed with moulded Empire line,
bodice fastened with tiny buttons
to the waist, shaft fan sleeves
and a high winged collar. The
full flared skirt swept to a cas-
cade bustle back from which
rich folds formed a short train,
Her finger-tip veil lees of tulle
illusion and she carried a cas-
cade bouquet of Johanna Hill
roses and baby breath.
She was attended by het sis-
ter, Miss Phyllis Herman, as maid
of honour, Miss Ruth Hancock,
Pefferlew, and Miss Verna Mc-
Nally, Colborne, who were gown-
ed alike in coral moire taffeta
with matching headdresses,' They
carried, colonial bouquets of
Queen Elizabeth roses and baby
breath. Little Nancy Caldwell,
Londesboro, as flower girl, wore
white moire taffeta and carried
a nosegay of roses.
Willard Aiken, brother of the
groom, was best man, and the
ushers were Gordon Herman,
brother of the bride, and Don
Symons, brother-in-law of the
groom.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents where
Mrs. Herman received the guests
wearing a dress of pink faconne
ope, has returned to Canada and
is visiting her sisters, Misses Dell
and Winnie O'Neil.
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Mason, Al -
beet and Joe McBrierl, all of
Windsor, ' have been renewing
acquaintances in this area dur-
ing the past few days.
Mr. and Mrs. James McLaren
and family have returned after
a pleasant visit in Port Arthur
with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mur-
ray, former residents of town.
Mr. and Mrs. John Gibbings
and son Brian, have returned to
their home in Stratford after
spending two weeks at the home
of the former's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. B. J. Gibbings.
Raymond Hutchison, radio in-
structor, Whitehorse,., Yukon,
visited his cousins, Mr. end Mrs.
Chester Farquhar and Kathleen
Martin, last week. He also vis-
ited other relatives in Clinton
and Seaforth.
Elwin Merrill and Benson Sut-
ter were in Belgrave on Sunday
where Huron Presbytery YPU
were guests of one of their num-
ber, Miss Patricia Anderson, They
assisted with the services on the
charge, Mr. Sutter bringing the
messages.

Miss Ann , Neilsen, Calgary,
Alta., has been ' guest of Mr. and
Mrs. M. T. Corless during the
past week. Miss' 'Neilsen came
by plane to Melton Airport and
is spending /her vacation in On-
tario and Quebec. She will at-
tend the Canadian National Ex-
hibition, and go as far east as
Montreal, returning by plane at
end of month to resume her
duties as teacher in one of Cal-
gary's schools.
