MIDGETS DRAW
WITH WINGHAM
When Clinton Lions played a
WOAA Midget baseball group
match with Wingham Lions at
Wingham Wednesday evening
last, catcher Bill Nediger had his
shoulder injured and was taken
to Wingham Hospital to have it
put back into joint.
The teams tied 6-6 in six in-
nings play, the game being cal-
led on account of darkness. The
count was tied 5-5 at the end of
of the fifth, but Cam Maltby
broke the tie in the first of the
sixth after walking.
However, Wingham came back
in their half with a run by Sim-
mons to tie it up again. The game
ended with the bases loaded for
Wingham and two out when Clare
Maltby struck out Brophy. It
was a close deal, and the Clinton
kids considered themselves pretty
lucky, especially as they weren't
hitting the ball worth sour ap-
ples, but they drew six walks
and had a hit batsman.
