Highlight `of the mid -summer
season in this district, from an
entertainment point of view, will
be the third annual Carnival to
be staged by Bayfield Lions Club
in Lions Park, Bayfield (formerly
Agricultural Park), on Wednes-
day evening next, July 27.
Net Proceeds of the affair will
be utilized to carry on and ex-
tend the' programme of child-
ren's welfare work in the Bay-
field community, which was in-
augurated with the establish-
ment of the Club in the early
months of 1947.
Bayfield Lime Club has done
a splendid job in connection with
the Lions Park, skating rink, aria
supplying equipment for Bayfield
Fire Department. One of the
current projects in hand is to
provide a movie projector for the
benefit of the children of the
community.
In order to provide the neces-
sary funds, the third annual
Carnival is being conducted next
Wednesday evening, July 27. First
event on the evening's programme
will be a smart fastball match
at seven o'clock, while formal
opening of the Carnival will take
place at eight o'clock.
During the' evening, the Blue -
water Band from Goderich well
present a delightful band concert.
There will be features for old
and young alike, including a giant
bingo, plenty of games to test
the skill of everyone, and pony
rides and other amusements for
the children.
Tickets are now on sale from
members, and will be available

"Ted" also is president of the
Club for 1949-50.
during the evening, 'on a draw
for a 1949 Dodge Coach auto-
mobile. This draw will be held
at midnight, together with a draw
for a door prize, on admission
tickets at the gate --an ovelette
valued at $35.
Arrangements are now com-
plete for the full cooperation of
all members of Bayfield Lions
Club and friends, in staging the
Carnival Wednesday -evening next,
July 27.
Presdient Ted Mack is general
chairman of the Carnival, and he
is supported by Leslie Elliott as
treasurer, and the following able
sub -committee chairmen:

bert Welsh and John E. Howard;
dance, Charles Seotcluner: re
freshments, Kenneth Merner;
bingo, Reg. Francis; crown and

Chairman Mack has issued a
call for every chairman and
every Lion to be on hand early
next Wednesday to set up the
booths and get the big Carnival
underway.
