White walked; Neilans was sa on shortstop's error; White eco. ed on Bill Craig's single; Draper walked, filling the bases. It was then that Manager Hawkins inserted himself to bat for the, youthful Jack Wilson. I was not the first time he had. done pinch-hitting in this. section •Coach Holdershaw of RCAF after a hurried conference with latter on the mound with a young ster, 'Law. Hawkins let the f! two by for balls, but hopped o the third one for a long hit to left field near the fence, the ball falling out of reach over Clarke' shoulder, Three runners scored and Hawkins ended up on third where he "died," Miller, the next Man up, striking out. The above was the highlight of en interesting match that looked Air Force all the way until the big break for, Colts came in the eighth. The Airmen snatched single runs •in the first, third and fifth, Robertson allowed only three htis until the eighth frame, and. they looked good enough to take the mighty Colts. The fatal eighth, however, cut the story short. There is no doubt that the RCAF team will be heard from before the end of the season, as it should improve all the, time. er Coiquhoun, rf, c ..3 0 O 2 0 1 4 1 1 0 0 1 0 4 O 2 3 1 0 0 0 12 0 0 1 1 28 5• 6 24 13 fe a Batted for Wilson in 8th. Brussels won the toss but it was the RCAF team which set the pace with some very danger- ous attacks on the Brussels goal. , ' Despite these repeated attacks it was not until the 30th minute of the game that a perfect corner kick taken by Gemmell was headed into the net by Hindson. After the interval the game continued at a fast pace and ten minutes after resumption, the Brussels' left full back handled the ball in the penalty area. The resulting penalty, taken by Hind - son, was deflected by Brussels goalkeeper back to Hindson who, this time, made no mistake with a powerful drive into the goal. Towards the end of the game the home team rallied strongly and were fianlly rewarded by a goal from McCutcheon.
