Travelling Supper
For Explorer Group
The leader and, girls of the
Wilhelinine Trewartha Explorer
Group of Wesley -Willis United
Church 'enjoyed a real treat on
Tuesday afternoon when their
meeting took the form of a
travelling supper.
The first course of this supper.
consisting of hot dogs and or-
angeade was served on the shady
lawn of Mr. and Mrs. A. Lucas
where the group conducted its
regular devotional, business, and
a fine sing -song. On special re-
quest the songs contested at the
Musical Festival held recently in
Goderich were repeated.
On sincerely thanking Mr. and
Mrs. Lucas and singing "Taps"
the' group again "took to the
road," shortly arriving at the
home •of Mrs. S. Steep where a
most cordial welcome was given.
The girls did ample justice to
slices and slices of fruit bread and
cheese. A group of choruses and
trios were sung and were much
appreciated and enjoyed by the
hostess. It is bound to lift a full
ten years off an elderly head
when she steps into the group
circle and places right hand over
left and sings "Taps." On leav-
ing the homes of their hostesses
broad smiles played all over the
faces of everyone and the group
kindly welcomed invitations to
visit them again.
After arriving at the Church
Hall Apple Blossom cookies serv-
ed' as a very enjoyable dessert
for the travelling supper. To parry
the girls on their homeward way
a peanut scramble on the church
lawn put the grand venture right
"over the top."
