The YPU had charge of the
Sunday evening service in United
Church` here. Miss Lois Richard-
son announced the hymns and
Stewart Wilson read the Scripture
and led in prayer. Jack McDonald
who delivered a very excellent
and thoughtful address. Jack is
to be congratulated on his able
manner and good 'delivery.

Community Club Meets
The monthly meeting of Por-
ter's Hill Community Club was
held on Wednesday, April _27, at
the home of Mrs. Allen Betties
with 18 ladies present The presi-
dent, Mrs. J. A. Torrance, was in
charge of the meeting which open-
ed with the roll call. The sec-
retary's end treasurer's reports
were read and adopted. Several
letters of appreciation f r o in
friends who received gifts during
illness, were read It was decid-
ed to purchase a bedspread and
a pair of pictures for the Club's
room in the Clinton Public Hos-
pital.

which resulted as follows: Presi-

We are very sorry to report
the heavy loss sustained by Mr.
and Mrs.'Moir when fire destroy-
ed their colony house and 250
chicks on Monday afternoon. Mr.
Moir received severe burns and
at time of writing is in hospital,
