Plan Community Centre

lic School would be ideal for a
community centre, Dr. E. G.

insurmountable problem inter-
venes you do everything to get
the centre near the school," Dr.
Pleva told citizens of the urea.
"The combination is hard to beat."
Such a location could be used
at times for school activities, and
the school for community activ-

Clifford Dougherty, five-year-
old son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Dougherty, escaped' with a brok-
en nose and bruises when he was
knocked to the roadway directly
in the path of an approaching'
car, which stopped only inches
from where he lay unconscious.'
Clifford was riding home from
school en the back of a farmer's'
wagon. When opposite his home,
just over the bridge on Queen
St. North, he jumped off the•

toward his home.
A flour truck was approaching
from the north and a car front

swerved to avoid hitting the boy,
and elmost succeeded: but the
back of the rack caught him and
hurled him to the pavement in
the path of the oncoming car,
