were weekend guests at the home
of Mr. and Mns. A M. Jackson,
Mr. and Mss. Charles Thomp-
son and family, Port Hope, were
Easter visitors at she home- of the
former'st brother and sister-in-
law, Dr. and Mrs. F. G. Thomp-
son.
Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Cooke and
two children, Stratford, have
been spending the Easter vaca-
tion with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. C. V. Cooke and Reuben
Grigg.
Mr. and. Mrs. George Hepburn
and daughter, Toronto and Miss
Margaret Colquhoun, University
of Western Ontario, London,
spent Easter weekend with the
ladies'. mother, Mrs. E. W. Colqu-
houn, and other nzembers of the
family in town,
John R. Cook, Public School
Staff, Ingersoll, and Miss Lola
Herd, Woodstock, are spending
the Easter vacation with the
former's parents, Mr. and Mrs,
Charles R. Cook, and grandpar-
ents, Mrs. Martha McClinchey,
and Mr, and Mrs, J. E. Cook.
Mrs. T. E. Hull, Toronto, and
Miss JoAnne Cuninghame, Sarnia,
spent Easter weekend with their
parents. Mrs. Hull is extending
her visit through the Easter vaca-
tion. Other guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Cuninghame were

MOTHERS' STUDY GROUP
The monthly meeting of the
Mothers' Study Group of Wesley -
Willis United Church will be held
at the home of Mrs. W. Grigg,
Queen St., on Tuesday evening,
April 26. Mrs. F. Miller will be
in charge of the programme end
the hostesses will be Mrs. M. Bat -
kin and Mrs. D. A. Dales.
Saunders and Carl'Crober, all, of
Sarnia
Mrs. W. Hislop and daughters,
Jean, R,N,, and Agnes, Saskat-
chewan, visited at the home of
their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Pickett, Orange St.. Miss
Agnes graduated es a Deaconess
on April 7, in Toronto, and ex-
pects to leave shortly for South
America where she will serve as
a missionary,
Mr. and. Mrs, John Stephenson,
London, and Miss Doreen Steph-
enson, North Bay, returned to the
old home total' to attend Easter
Sunday, service in their former
church,' Wesley -Willis United
Church. St is some years since
the Stephensons left Clinton but
they still like when possible to
attend Easter service here.
Mr. end Mrs. W. S. R. Holmes
were at Aldershot Tuesday at-
tending the funeral of the late
W. C. Linder, who passed away
Saturday. Mr. Linder was a
former Clinton grocer, occupying
the store now operated by C. M.
Shearing. His wife was formerly
Miss Minnie Relines, Clinton. A
son, William Linder, Jr.. resides
in Mimico.
Girls' Club Hears
Talk on Literature
The regtiialr meeting of the
Girls' Club ' of Wesley -Willis
Ignited Church, was held in the
Church Hall on Tuesday, April
12. The president, Miss O'Neil,
was in the chair and Mrs. Agnew
at the piano. The meeting open-
ed with a hymn followed by
prayer.
A 'quintette, Jean Nediger,
Joyce Grigg, Joyce Andrews,
Margaret Holland and Kay Mc -
Gil/ with Mass Viola Fraser at
lure piano sang two numbers
which were greatly enjoyed. The
reports of the various officers
were given and adopted. Miss
Stone conducted a very inspiring
worship period ending with
prayer,
The atiealter of the evening was
Mrs, R. S, Atkey who gave • a
most interesting discourse on the
Development of Canadian Lit-
erature. Mrs. L. Mckinnon and
Miss W.' Thompson expressed
pleasure at being present and
hearing such a fine talk, Mrs.
Stewart Middleton and .Mrs. W.
A. Oakes made the motion that
this 'address be pubiishd in Lull
in the local press.
A hymn and the Mizpah bene-
diction brought a very profitable
meeting to a close, after which
a social hour was enjoyed when
Mrs, William MoEwen's group
served tea.

WILSON—WELSH
A lovely Easter wedding of
great interest to Clinton and sur-
rounding community took place
in Ontario St. United Church on
Saturday, April 16, when Helen
May, only daughter of Mr. and
Mrs.` Oliver Welsh, was united in
holy bonds of matrimony with
John S. Wilson, only son of IVir•.
and Mrs. George Wilson, 'Wort-
ley .l ,d., London.
Rev. W. J. Woolfrey performed
the double ring ceremony before
a pretty bridal setting of pastel
shaded snapdragons. Easter lilies
and ferns. Mrs, E. Wendorf play-
ed a soft background of bridal
music throughout the ceremony
and accompanied the soloist, Bob
Wyatt, London, who sang "The
Lord's Prayer" and "Because.."
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a graceful
gown of ivory satin, styled with
a yoke of Chantilly lace, a slim
bodice extending to form a train.
A cap • of Chantilly lace held her
long veil of illusion whieh fell
beyond the train of her gown.
She darned a bridal cascade of

Huron County Junior Farmers'
Association Is holding a farewell
party for J. C. Rennie, former
assistant Agricultural Represent-
ative, in appreciation of the
splendid work he accomplished
while stationed here. He left
April 1 for Guelph.
The event will be held in
Clinton Collegiate Auditorium on
Thursday evening, April 20,

Mr. Woolfrey closed the meeting
with prayer.
The May meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. W. Plum-
steel. Mrs. C. Elliott and Mrs,
D. M. Maltby were appointed
delegates to attend' the Presby-
terial at Hensall on Tuesday,
April 26.
