The Milverton club took a two
in- goal lead in the first five min
game, : utes of play with their star play
ars of the game, Gropp, and Gaul,
counting, Froin then on the Mil-
verton boys stayed on top through
a fast,'clean game of hockey.
Although the score seems to
indicate a very much one-sided
game many fans considered it a
very good game to . watch, until
the end of the' third' period' ,Then
the Milverton gang seemed to be
able to score at will, 'counting
five goals in the last three min-
utes of play.
Doug Bartliff tabled one of the
nicest goals to be scored this
year, when he stickhandled from
behind his own .net through the
entire Milverton team to draw
the goalie out and slide, the, puck
into the net, which, even though
they lost the game, satisfied many
of the Clinton fans.
Gaul was the "spark plug" for
the Milverton team, getting three
goals and two assists: The Royals
played a good defensive, and ag-
1 it was very well played, with
ooth sides playing fast' hockey.
'['he game saw 17 penalties band-
ed out by referee "Pat" Gardiner,
Stratford.
Doug
Bartliff ff for the Colts
tried in vain to get the boys
started, but to no avail. Ile rack-
ed himself the only three goals
that were sunk behind Robertson
who played a very sound .game
in the .net for RCAF.
Crowder and G. Clark -Marlow
played a very iinpressive game
for the Air Force. with their
fighting ability to keep the rub-
ber in the opposite end of the
rink.
Cunningham for the 'Air Force
and Schoenhals for the Colts, put
on some very fine exhibitions of
defensive work during the 'even-

RCAF TROUNCES
CENTRALIA 5-1
ON SOFT ICE
(By Harold "Mac" Maellvor)
At the Olinton Lions Arena
Tuesday evening, Clinton RCAF
was robbed of a shutout when
then trounced Centralia, RCAF
5-1 in an OHA Intermediate "B"
hockey game.
A large crowd saw two teams
battle all evening on a very poor
surface of ice, and players could
not stand up under the pressure
which was made possible by all
the slush and soft ice.
Goalie "Fatso" Robertson of
Clinton was robbed of his first
shutout, when late in the second
period, from a scramble around
the .net, Harris for Centralia
pushed the rubber past him. The
Clinton boys held the edge
throughout the game although
plays were made impossible due
to the poor ice surface. "Muscles"
LeBlanc for Clinton showed his
power by cooling off Cook which
resulted in both players drawing
major penalties.
