the Agricultural Office in Clin-
ton recently. Representatives
numbering about 60 were pres-
ent from Lucknow, Blyth, Ex-
eter, Hensall, Kippen and. Clinton.
William Jervis, president of the
local club, was in the chair, and,
all secretaries of the various
clubs were• sitting at the secre-
tary's table.
Ken. Juck, Goderich, local
game overseer,' .introduced the
chief speaker, District Inspector
Ed. Meadows, Galt. Mr. Meadows
gave a very interesting talk on
the breeding, raising and releas-
ing of pheasants. He pointed out
quite emphatically that unless the
birds were released when they
were quite young they were much
too tame to take proper care of
themselves and became easy
targets for the so-called sports-
men who • would" not give them
a chance to be on the wing be-
fore shooting them.
Mr. ,Meadows conducted a
question period and a lot of in-
formation was gathered both on
game and fishing and arguments
were brought out on several
points but were settled by read-
ing portions of the' laws per-
taining to each point.
Mr. Juck spoke briefly on fish-
ing and pointed:out,to the various
clubs where they had been slack
on several occasions.
