pupils on the splendid program
when he presented the shield
Won by Bayfield Public School
for the most points in exhibits
at the Bayfield Fall Fair. Mr.
McAuley very graciously accept-
ed the shield on behalf of the
school, Santa Claus arrived and
distributed gifts from the Christ-
mas tree'. And if some wee
folk were disappointed that their
names were not called out, it
was not because Santa forgot
them but simply, that he was
paying especial attention to those
who attend school, this time and
he'll be beck again.

WMS Christmas Meeting
The Christmas meeting of the
WMS of Londesboro United
Church was held on. December 9,.
in the Sunday School room. With
the' president, Mrs. R. Townsend,
in the chair, meeting opened by
all repeating the Lord's Prayer
in -unison, followed by a Christ-
mas hymn. j Mrs, F. Shobbrook
led in prayer. Mrs. W. Lyon
gave the report on the bale of
good used clothing and a quilt
valued at $2.50 to be sent over-
seas. Mrs, Lillie Webster gave
a very interesting temperance
reading, Mrs, T. Fairservice,
leader of group No, 2, then took
charge for the candle-Iighting
service. Mrs. E. Wood, organist,
played "Silent Night" very softly
while the" group assembled; those.
taking part were Mrs. Alice Car-
ter, Mrs. Ruddel, Mrs. Watson,
Mrs. Govier, Mrs. F. Shobbrook,
Mrs, McCool, Miss Young. Mrs.
Allen -and Mrs, Brenton contrib-
uted a duet, Mrs, Ruddel. and
Mrs. Watson read the scripture
lesson. Miss Young gave. a
Christmas story, The Shepherd
who did not go; "Silent Night"
was sung, and meeting closed with
prayer.

Farm Forum Meets
The "Farm Forum" of S, S.
No. 1, Hullett, met at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. 'Elgin Nott on,
tMonday evening, December 13.
There were 20 present,
The topic for discussion was
"Let's go to the movies," after
which Euchre and "500" were
played.
Elgin Nott favoured with a few
violin selections, accompanied by
Noble Holland et the piano. A
delicious lunch was served.
It was decided not to hold
another meeting until January 3,
and this meeting will be held at
the home of Mr, and Mrs, Bert

Suffers Accident
Abe Zapfe met with a painful
accident last week when he suf-
fered a badly crushed finger while
working at a well in Varna. It
was at first feared the finger
would have to be amputated,
