count of the flood and washout
situation and that cement was
still very hard to obtain. He
spoke on the High. School Area
and stated he did not feel that
tile Township had lost for going
Into the area but felt that it had
not turned out as anticipated. He
felt that the equalization "plan
when completed would right the
situation. He also stated• that the
Township was still working
away at the municipal ditches
and that tile was extremely dif-
ficult to procure.
Henry Leishman
Henry Leishman, a nominee
but nota member of the Coun-
cil was given a chance to 'Speak.
iHe felt that it was not good bus-
iness to have an entirely new
council and would like to have
the opportunity of serving.
He' stated that in his opinion
the weeds were very bad and the
roadsides in a disgraceful shape
Ile felt that the Township would
be well-advised to co-operate
with the County in any reforest-
ation plan.
Mr, Cartel, the former road
sliperihtendent, was called on
for a few words, and spoke brief-
ly. He thanked the Township for
the support given him in the past
27 years and hoped that they
would continue to support his
successors Who had also been his
cliblce by Man for the job,
.Matthew Armstrong, a former
reeve, and father of the reeve,
was present and was given a
chance to speak. He stated that
he thought the equalization plan
an excellent thing but thought
that it should be held more fre-
quently than every ten: years. He
said he had been through two
equalizations and found that the
Township had greatly benefitted
each time.
The sheeting closed • with the
sinking. of the National Anthem.
