In Denmark, Mr. Graham said,
all the economy of the country
is dependent on agriculture. Ire
emphasized 'that 30 per cent of
the million people on farms have
gone to an *agricultural school
or taken courses in agriculture.
They also are 'below in numbers
of livestock and their bacon fac-
tories are running at only 50 per
cent.
In Britain he declared he found
the people had a tradition and
loyalty to their country, not
found anywhere else. He said
the British are caretakers of their
soil and they realize the im-
portanec of science and research
and its importance to the practical
side of agriculture.
Ross Marshall thanked the
speaker.
The Church Hall was filled to
capacity for the event-. Colin
Campbell, Bayfield, said grace,
J. W. VanEgmond, Clinton, in-
troduced those at the head table.
R. G. Bennett, agricultural rep-
resentative for Huron County, led
in a singsong.
In his opening remarks, Presi-
dent Alien Betties, Bayfield, de-
clared that more and more peo-
ple were becoming interested in
the black and white cattle, and
extended a hearty welcome to
everyone.
Rev. W. J. Woolfrey extended
a welcome to the church, and
expressed good wishes for the
future of the Club.
The Cousins Quartette from
Hay Township, rendered several
musica4 numbers.
Norman Martin, director of the
Holstein -Friesian Association of
Canada, brought greetings of
that body. He presented It G.
Bennett with' a billfold in ap-
preciation of the latter's acting
as announcer at the Bleck arid
White Show held at London.
Secretary W. Hume Clutton,
Goderich, congratulated Mr. and
Mrs. Willard Aiken on their re-
cent marriage.
. Various Presentations
Presentation of various awards
for efficiency and for winning
at the Black and White Show at
Blyth, was made.
J. C. Rennie, assistant agri-
cultural representative for Hu-
ron County, presented prizes to
the Junior Calf Club members,
headed by Maurice Hallahan,
Belgrave. R. G. Bennett, C. D.
Graham, Samuel Riddick, and
Hume Clutton, officiated at oth-
er presentations.
Cecil Peckham, Stratford, a
Provincial director, spoke brief-
ly, extending greetings from the
Association.
Howard Trewartha, Clinton, ex-
pressed the thanks of the gath-
ering to the ladies,
a suitable
reply being made by Mrs. C.

BRIDGE RE -FLOORED
GODERICH—A crew of more
than 30 men were engaged in
putting a new floor on the bridge
which spans the Maitland River
between Goderich and Saltford
on the Bluewater Highway. The
old planks were removed, and
replaced .by a high class lam-
inated floor.
