Good Races Heid
Another feature of the fair was
the races. Results were: Della
Grattan, Burns, Seaforth, 1, 1, 1;
Peter Direct, Ernie McClinchey,
3, 2, 2, and Jean Grattan, Jack
McClinchey, 2, 3, 3. In the run-
ning race theresults were Ronald
McGee, 1, 2; Frank McDonald, 2,
1, and Babe Arber, 3, 3.
In the evening a concert by the
Ripley Players was staged in the
Town Hall and this was followed
by •a dance which brought the
fair to a lively close. Music for
dancing was provided by the Bay-
field Valley Five.
Presbyterian Girls
Hear Miss V. Fraser
Clinton Presbyterian Girls'
Club held its September meeting
at the home of Mrs. Clarence
Neilans. After the regular de-
votional and business periods, the
meeting was favoured with a most
interesting and instructive talk
by Miss Viola Fraser of Wesley-
Willis United Church, who spoke
on California and Lugano Beach
in particular, from where she has
returned after spending several
years. This talk was much en-
joyed by all,
A presentation was made by
Mrs. Lane, on behalf of the Club,
of e cup and saucer, to Miss Beat-
rice Gibson who leaves soon to
live in Saskatoon.
A delicious lunch was served
by the hostess.
